For those of us that own dozens and dozens of games for a variety of systems, we need a better way to view our game collections.

Right now, when you click the "view collection" button, it just shows you the entire game collection right there, in one enormous lump, with no proper sorting whatsoever. It merely shows the games in the order that you added them to your collection, which serves absolutely zero practical usage to users.

I would like the option to apply console sorting vs. mixed, for one. Right now, we can apply that for our game LISTS. But what if we just want to view the collection itself? It used to be that we could click "view games", and it would show us our entire collection WITH it sorted by system. I vote that we have that as an option again.

Then, separately, I would like to be able to sort based on add date (the way it works now), release date, sales total, and, of course, alphabetical order. Alphabetical order is the main goal here, but the others are also nice, so I figure they should go in too.

Finally, an option for ascending vs. descending order would be nice.

Pretty much every single website that gives you large lists of items like this also gives you these kinds of sorting options. There's no reason we shouldn't have similar options. Improve the games collection pages. Give us a proper way to use such a feature the way it should be.

I'll second the call for an alphabetical sort; I recently realized a couple games were missing, and the way things are now it's a real pain trying to go through and make sure everything I have is listed. And as long as we're adding sort options, the ones suggested all make sense on their own merit.

Basically all the coding that would be required to include these sort functions is already in operation on the site (all the new sort functions are already in effect in the main GamrReview games browsing sort functions). So it's really not like it would be that difficult - you'd basically just be porting in code from other parts of the site, and it would end with all of us getting a ton more functionality.

I agree, sorting options would be a huge improvement. Sorting is really a feature whose exclusion in inexcusable.

Also, a much less request: I'd really like to be able to choose the default cover for my games. I live in Europe and in most cases where each region has a different cover, Europe has it better than North America. I know I can view all those covers whenever I want but I'd like it to show what I want in my collection by default. An older version of VGChartz had this feature but it's been absent for a long while now.

Some of the consoles are even missing when you try to sort by console, Which has been mentioned in 2.0 bugs thread, havent seen any response about it though. I thoroughly agree though, the collection feature needs updating bigtime!

Yeah, that's right. My Atari 2600 games don't show up on my "sort by console" list at all.

Let people sort by:

Rating
Completed
Alphabet
Release Date (If added to GamrReview)

Favorites (Let users not just rate games, but do like 1-10, 20, 30 etc)

Yeah, I play a lot of old games and continuously tweak my scores for them, so it bugs me that I have to search for anything pre-5th gen directly from the database.

Also, being the anally retentive wanker that I am, I'd like the "favorite games" section at the bottom of my profile to include pre-5th gen games. And my profile keeps insisting that the PS2 is my favorite console, even though I own way more Super Nintendo games.

I know, I know, trivial stuff. I should probably do something about that OCD of mine.

Good, good.  It's nice to know there will be improvements. I think it's just been quite quiet about things like this lately... But still good =)
