Get my kids hooked using the common drug "Nintendo". Then, let them find their way. Worked for me, I managed to fine-tune that balance fantastically. Freedom of choice will be the key in my plan.

Also, "if" you want to have kids? If you don't want kids, you have no heart.

Seriously? Come on dude, that's just propaganda you're repeating.

How can you not want kids?

How can you want kids?

Give me reasons I should want them, if you think you can come up with any good ones.

Its the biological imperative. Ignoring all other factors every organisim on Earth wants to have children and if an organisim doesn't something is biologically wrong with it.

Oh please, that's just propaganda. A mere cultural myth perpetuated by society. Stop trying to paint me as deviant, and accept the reality that not everyone wants kids.

He's stating the truth. You would be impressed with the things you discover with biopsychology. While of course it would be a silly reductionism to say it's all about impulses, one could even consider some sort of impulse not to have kids a lethal gene.

This is a very good topic.

I've been thinking about it for a while. Especially recently since I'm getting married yet I'm playing more games than ever. How do I moderate the little guys? We know that gaming can be a slightly distructive or time-wasting activity at times.

So my solution:
1.Try to inspire them to feel passion for some other activities that are geniunely constructive. Math, Music, Arts, Cooking, Sports. If they do this then they might feel less attracted to sitting indoors in front of a TV all day.
2. I'll get them a NES to start out with at the age of 3, then and gradually go through the different Nintendo gens while they're young. When they're 12 or so then they can play what they like, as I'm sure they would be responsible enough not to completely fuck out at life by then.

You're getting married? But what about the Russian hookers?

what happens in russia stays in russia

Considering the dubious political situation over there, you may not be leaving...

If you managed to leave during the soviet collapse like my family did, you'll be fine ;)

Can't wait 'till my next visit there...

Unless you bring something back with you, if you get my drift.

*nods knowingly*

It's simple.

I feel fulfilled when taking care of my close ones and adore the premise of teaching someone the ways of life and watching them grow and evolve into an independent thinker that knows how to make the correct and moral choices, and knows how to squeeze the most out of life... someone who is in touch with their innermost feelings and acts on them. (indpendent thinker/ me teaching the ways of life contradicts a bit, but I am about freedom, after all) - truly, I'm only 20, but by the time I do have kids, I will be far more experienced, and I think that I'd make for a fine Father.

(I am also cheesy as fuck and seem to constantly deviate into stuff, but regardless!)

You do seem quite cheesy, but I gotta admit that your innocent and naive reasoning is quite sweet. Hope raising children bring you happiness.

I've had personal experiences with children that have made me not want to actually dedicate important moments of my life to them. Just not really worth it all the sacrifices, to succumb to the myth perpetuated by society.

I believe that this'll change ;)

(having kids is worth it just so I can say "WE CAN RULE THE GALAXY AS FATHER AND SON!")

Thanks man!

Haha, I don't know if that will change, but who knows?

BTW, what if you have a daughter?

We rule as father and daughter, obviously. It just doesn't have that hammer sound :P

It also sounds a little bit pervy...

To a pervy brain it does.

Does that apply to gay people too? I'm also skeptical of this whole biopsychology thing.

Yes. You want to have sex with your unborn daughter.

It's still years out in the future, so I haven't put a lot of thought into it, but basically this is what I've got by now:

1) Try to see what games they can handle and which ones they can't as they grow up in order to find out what they can play and what they can't.

2) Play a lot with them and make sure they understand that it isn't real.

3) Make sure they don't neglect other important aspects in life like education and friends.

Yes, that is silly reductionism indeed.

I quite like this:

''Oh please, that's just propaganda. A mere cultural myth perpetuated by society. Stop trying to paint me as deviant, and accept the reality that not everyone wants kids''

Now think how ridiculous it would be if more and more human tendencies get evalutated according to 'biopsychology'. Just like Quantum Mechanics, 'Biopsychology' is best discussed by experts since only those experts know how frail their models are.
