Is it that hard to accept that SMG is just that much better than R&C?  Nothing against R&C, it's a perfectly fine game, just SMG is about as close to perfect as a single game has achieved in nearly 10 years. 

Say what you want about the game but any game that comes so close to Ocarina of Time is very impressive and more than likely deserves any honor it receives. 
 

I love these discussions. People get so damned fired up over one great game winning an award over another great game.

Good for SMG, I can't wait to play the game more (as soon as I buy another Wii). I have no problem with it, BioShock, Mass Effect, or a handful of other games winning a GoTY.

 I'm suprised somone like yourself would even acknowlege R&C as a "perfectly fine" game. Mario Galaxy is far from perfect, Twesterm. Mario Galaxy, like any other game, has it's flaws. The camera, for instance, is not even close to being perfect. The Swiming levels do not control well. R&C isn't just a fine game. Rather, it's an amazing game game. There's no game within the same genre that's a full 9 points better. 

Wow I'm not even gonna go to that site. How biased can you be having no PS3 games and 6 360 games? I can see Halo 3 and Bioshock but what other 4? Also uncharted should be up there and I'd assume CoD4 is up there and thats multi plat so thats at least 2 PS3 games that should be up there.

I agree completely. I really think its big time over rated. Its an overused character if I've ever seen one. The only reason it sells is because its like one of the very few games the Wii has. Like it has Mario, Metroid, Zelda (all overused) and Wii sports is about all.

Although i don't think Ratchet and clank is that great either, I agree with you. Uncharted should be in the nominees at least, i never go to gamespot anyways though.

SUPER MARIO GALAXY is the BEST game EVER.....and it deserves the score....

also, if you haven't played the game from the BEGIN until the END, you cannot say whether it deserves it or not....

the game is the best, and the 4 millions it sold are still rising at a fast rate!!
