Good point. I guess Assassin's Creed and Call of Duty are now just yearly installments.

Still, lots of "3's" next year.

Yeah, and isn't Max Payne 3 releasing next year. Saint's Row 3 might be delayed to 2012 too. I bet Dragon Age 3 releases next year too considering the short dev cycle of DA2. We could also see a Left 4 Dead 3

Pikmin 3 may also be a Wii U launch title, and we may also see the third mainstream Final Fantasy this gen (FFXV). Then GTV and RE6 will kill that cycle.

Well Bizarre Creations was broken up after Activision wasn't happy with their performance. So PGR makes sense. However if Super Mario 3DS is delayed until 2012, that's a sequel for Super Mario Galaxy, and who knows, maybe Wii U will open with a Super Mario game again.

Also, these games are all smaller then the big four I mentioned. The bigger games are still being remade.

and Mario Party 9 is fall 2011.

Which big four?  Mass Effect and Bioshock aren't all that big.  Especially when the 2007 list has Pokemon, World of Warcraft, Mario, Half-Life, God of War, Uncharted, Guitar Hero (at the time), Zelda, and Mario Party.  Granted there is also Call of Duty, but that has been coming out every year since 2003.  Now obviously more things will be announced in the next year, but I wouldn't say 2012 is unique in terms of the number of sequels coming out.

That's true, there are a lot of games I missed, but for the HD systems, 2007 looks a lot like 2012, and I can debate it, but like a lot of people above say, this type of pattern can be matched among more then just 2007.

As for debating, first of all any one of those games could have a 2012 title, except I doubt a major Pokemon title. Isn't the new Blizzard MMO coming in 2012? I don't know much about it.

Mario I already said, if the 3DS game gets delayed, or Wii U opens with a Super Mario title, that's settled. Uncharted for PSV may not be a launch title, but a 2012 title, there is no release date yet. We may also see a God of War 4 or PSV for 2012, it's still pretty early to tell.

Orange Box was a second console port. Half Life 2 was released for XB1 in 2004, Orange Box was more of an introduction to Portal then anything else, which has its sequel in 2011. Also Guitar Hero 3, replace it with Just Dance 3, done.

Still Halo, Mass Effect, Bioshock, Assassin's Creed, Ninja Gaiden, and Warhawk. At least for the current HD systems, it looks pretty similar. All I am missing is Uncharted and God of War, which may see PSV interations for 2012.
