Huh? I wasn't talking about changing the moderation system, I was just saying that if people want the intelligent discussion to make a comeback, they should try to do more intelligent discussions themselves.

I see this place as what CBR X-books forum was before people arrived and ruined it with pointless fanboyism.

I would have to say overall there are some very intelligent people that post on this site. To answer the original question I think people here are much more aware than the average person. I see debate in pretty much any thread you look at. Debate is healthy and it causes individuals to figure out what they believe, trust in, and support. It keeps your mind going and on the current topics in the world of gaming, economies, politics, religions, science, and the latest trends. Most average people just go through their day work/school,and come home to leisure then sleep. There are not a lot of people getting on web sites that can drive debate.
Also, unfortunately I was not a member of VGchartz back in the "good" years with more quality members and threads. I have been visiting this site since 09 however. Just never made the plunge to become a member until this year.

When I first joined here, one of the things that attracted me to the forums was the seemingly more intelligent conversations that took place here. Now that the site has gotten bigger, good users get diluted by the others.

How would that stop the bad posts? It's not like they can't go in and comment away in the said "intelligent discussion".

Sorry, but I was reading all of the posts and came across this. I don't want to push a debate on this thread, but I had to respond to what you said in this paragraph. I was right on with a lot of what you are saying, cAPSLOCK except for this.

By in large I did not see rioters in the streets claiming to be on the right and screaming that a black man was being elected president. I really think anyone who had an issue with a black man becoming president was in a very minute minority. The main argument was with policy differences. You may have seen a few racists signs here and there during the campaign, but I assure you they were few and far between. Those people by no means represent the right wing voters. If you can provide a host of prominent right wing leaders that made racial comments then so be it. But, I think you are basing your statements off of what certain people informed you of, but I have not seen any factual evidence to the claims that many right wingers were racist against Obama.

So what if they can? If they're trying to troll, then the mods should deal with them, and if they're simply being stupid, you ignore them or tear their post apart. It's not about removing the fanboys from the discussions, it's about showing them that they need to up their game if they want to be taken seriously.
