A question, will MeeGo be released on devices made by HTC , Samsung and SE in the future? or is it forever exclusive to Nokia?

LG and HTC are participating in Meego, but no devices were announced by them. On the other hand, the biggest telco in the world, China Mobile, has Meego as their choice #1 so prolly we could see some Chineese OEMs like ZTE or Huawei or Meizu producing Meego handsets in the future. It's question though if other operators will be willing to import those handsets.

Mind you though Harmattan (N9 UI) is owned by Nokia, so they prolly keep it to themselves so other vendors will use their own or vanilla Meego Phone. It saddens me, as some companies apparently approached Nokia to buy out their Meego competence (people and products), but were refused. Elop wants to sink it completely, with no chance to rebirth whatsoever.

Having symbian icons on MeeGo UI never made sense to me. Why does nokia want me to remind me of their horrible painful shitty symbian? so this is good news.

And yeah.. I am sad too, I truely loved what I saw from MeeGo... ah well.

My post was on their possible involvement into MeeGo, why you brought Microsoft in to the dicsussion? -.-

Anyways, I'd not be so firm in your place regarding HTC, they already said they're moving away from WP7. And LG have already  burnt fingers in dealing with Microsoft (they had strategic deal with MS in past which failed) so them must be very cautious, too. Especially with utter failure of WP7 in the market as of today, they must be thinking the old hustory just repeats itself.

Strangely, I think that after Nokia abandoning Meego, other vendors will be much more interested to jump in. They certainly remember how Nokia outshined everyone else in Symbian consortium (with few exceptions of some domestic markets like that in Japan)

Looks great! I'm locked in a contract anyways though and don't feel like paying an ETF just to get a new phone since I'm happy with Android (Samsung Fascinate)

Huh? Looking back just to may, HTC said this:

HTC should benefit from Nokia’s deal to start using Microsoft’s software in its smartphones as this will boost Windows’ share of the smartphone market, Seiche [an HTC executive] said.

“It will not change our commitment to Microsoft,” he said. “With a new player entering, it should actually help to elevate the relevance of that platform … we actually feel that we should be able to benefit.”

I missread Meego for Mango...sorry.

And rest of the stuff you said is pure specilation or just you making things up.

HTC said nothing about moving away from WP7 - http://www.techradar.com/news/phone-and-communications/mobile-phones/htc-nokia-windows-phone-7-deal-will-help-us--957177

And LG is not satisfied with WP7 but have said nothing about abndoning the platform.

In any case...carry on about MeeGo

No doubt. But also, looking back at June:

"Jack Tong told that the 70% of the company's phones now are based on Android, and that number is expected to increase."

And don't get me wrong I'm not saying they gonna drop WP7 completely out of blue. But certainly they gonna invest less and less than before.
