My post was on their possible involvement into MeeGo, why you brought Microsoft in to the dicsussion? -.-
Anyways, I'd not be so firm in your place regarding HTC, they already said they're moving away from WP7. And LG have already burnt fingers in dealing with Microsoft (they had strategic deal with MS in past which failed) so them must be very cautious, too. Especially with utter failure of WP7 in the market as of today, they must be thinking the old hustory just repeats itself.
Strangely, I think that after Nokia abandoning Meego, other vendors will be much more interested to jump in. They certainly remember how Nokia outshined everyone else in Symbian consortium (with few exceptions of some domestic markets like that in Japan)
