The developer revealed last week that newly formed Avalanche Studios New York is making an "unannounced AAA title" targeted for release on next-gen platforms in 2014, and studio manager David Grijns told Edge:

"Anyone who says they know what the market is going to look like three years from now is just blowing smoke," he added. "Whatever happens, we feel very confident that we'll be ready for it."
Just this week, PlayStation US boss Jack Tretton has said that nothing Nintendo's revealed about Wii U suggests to him Sony needs to introduce new hardware any time soon, while Crytek has denied rumours that it has begun development on games for the next generation Xbox.
Avalanche co-founder Christofer Sundberg also told Edge that the industry doesn't need better looking games, just "better" ones.
"If there is a way to push the bar in a few years then that's fine, but the looks of games these days are so good that they don't need to look better," he said.
"What is more interesting is the ways that developers and publishers can find new ways of designing games - and more interesting gameplay and distribution models - rather than better-looking games."
