Forums - Gaming - E3. How it has changed? Did noone win E3?

For me Nintendo, but in comparison to Sony, they were pretty much even. It wasn't like the last 2 years where someone lost horribly and someone won.

Meh, quite meh E3

Also... While it was just a demo... I found Zelda Wii U to be also better looking than Mass Effect.

Reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally good looking.

I blame the internetz for E3 becoming slightly lacklustre. Every year for the last few years, pre-E3 speculation (no matter how ridiculous) has increased drastically, resulting in a situation whereby whatever is announced is a disappointment. This goes hand in hand with publishers announcing that they've got an upcoming announcement about a potential announcement. The biggest surprise announcement in the last five years or so is FFXIII going to 360, and it's on a list of one.

Of course it doesn't help when certain companies leak their entire conference an hour or two beforehand.

It's lost the magic that it had when you had to wait a month for whatever magazine you read to get around to publishing all the new info...

If that's in game, Uncharted wins hands down.

fanboys changed it.

it used to be that everyone watching E3 was a video game fan, and thus we rated what was most exciting.

NOW people watching E3 are either a sony, microsoft or nintendo fan. not hard to guess what e3 each will like

E3 is a time of year where internet gamers crawl out of the dark spaces they live under declare who won E3. Based entirely on there console preference and what new exclusives it has. How different this E3 was.

So many varied people this year have completely different outlooks. And I think that's largely due to the 3 companies taking vastly diffrent future approaches. Some people thought Microsoft were to kinect focused. Others loved what kinect has install. Some liked Wii u. Others think its a step back from the Wii. Some think Sony had a nice show in general. Others think there was nothing new as vita is just a mobile device going against wp7, iPhone and android.

Truth is E3 this year is the first year where Boone can categorically say any company won. The sales will tell us who won over the next year. Imo there were only a couple of clear winners.

3rd party devs destroyed first party this year. Yes even gears 3 and uncharted 3 were both smashed. And graphically to. Skyrim, mass effect 3 and battlefield 3 all looked better graphically. Even rage to. But as games there is no doubt bioshock, mass effect 3, skyrim and battlefield 3 all showed a huge 2 fingers to first party studios. Well done to the winners. The 3rd party guys.

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHH! lmfao! you're joking right? cuz if not this is worst than your Alan wake graphic kingz threads

not sure who these 'others' are but PSV had a VERY good reception from fans AND the media! great games, amazing hw and absolutely awesome price which NO ONE saw coming

I might find more. But seriously. Uncharted 3 blows everything out of the water, visually.

Even Tomb Raider?

Yes! Even that filthy, Uncharted clone!

Although I actually find Tomb Raider to be a better looking game than Mass Effect 3 and even Skyrim...

amen...I'm sure PC titles will look great but ME3? >_> it's too absurd to be funny

I agree with this. As with other things, the 24-hour news cycle has reduced the impact of E3, but it's not like that's something that just set in at the beginning of the internet era, it's really a phenomenon you can see in the past couple of years.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I was checking out older E3's and one of them was MS E3 of 2006 damned that one was epic.....Compared to what we have seen this year...
