Awesome scores.
And the game deserves them!

Such low reviews! Anything under 99 is wrong!! //Sascarm

Glad to know that!! Always is great to have some feedback for fellow VGChartz users.  Have you had any issue with 3D on Zelda?

Come on! 19th came sooner i want to play that game! (and get an OoT Soundtrack)

Not really, no.

I'm playing the game now BTW. The 3D effects are amazing and certainly add some new depth, and it looks awesome as well. You now get 4 item things which is nice, and it just feels much more focused and all. And it's on a handheld!

Deserves the scores. Completely.

I say it will end with a 94 average since after the initial first 10 or so reviews the overall will go down if the score is this high, but either way I'm picking mine up in two days so it won't affect me.

Former something....

IGN (9.5/10)

This is The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, just as you remember it, reborn for a new portable system and a new generation of gamers across the globe. If you have never played this classic game, stop reading this review and get out there and buy it. The core essence of Ocarina of Time ages exceptionally well (even in light of sequels that have expanded on it), and it's never looked better. That Nintendo and Grezzo were only willing to adjust and enhance so much (by and large the sound is untouched) is truly admirable and speaks to their respect for the source material and its original developers. There is no doubt in my mind that it was the right choice. Why mess with perfection?

That said, that decision comes with a price, one that will frustrate many of you who have played this game over and over again and are in the market for drastic change. If the graphical boost isn't enough - and let's be honest, we're already seeing some games on the 3DS that look better than this - you're not going to have much else to satisfy your interests. It's clear this game is being released to find a new generation of gamers that are just discovering Nintendo's franchises. The rest of us will have to determine if it's worth re-visiting a Hyrule we've known for nearly 13 years. Rest assured, though, that doing so will not only let you relive a masterpiece, it will let you experience it in the best way possible.

1UP (B+)

I suppose this is why the Zelda/Bond analogy is ultimately flawed. Games have changed a lot more since 1998 than films have since the '60s. Ocarina, essential and unequalled as it was in its day, shows the signs of its age and could definitely be refined in ways that wouldn't have a negative impact on the heart of the game itself. It's still a great adventure, laden with atmosphere and crammed with content, but it sits uncomfortably between the 2D perfection of A Link to the Past and the more nuanced refinements of its own successors (especially Twilight Princess and, by all appearances, Skyward Sword). As a portable gaming enthusiast, I love being able to play a game of this quality on the go. I just wish as much attention had been paid to the nuts-and-bolts of the game as was lavished on appearances.

CheatCodeCentral (4.8/5.0)

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D is more than just a re-make. Sure, the story is the same, and if you've played it before, everything will feel instantly familiar. But if you fell in love with Ocarina of Time when it originally released, the revamped visuals, new interface, and bonus content will be enough to get you back into the game. Ocarina of Time 3D truly shines on the 3DS, and even though this version is optimized for handhelds, it is definitely the ultimate version of the game. If you have never experienced Ocarina of Time before, this is a great place to jump in. If you've already been through the game several times, get ready to say hello to an old friend made new. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D is truly the first "must-have" game for the 3DS.

GamePro (4.5/5.0)

In short, it's given me a new perspective on a classic that I had (foolishly) written off. It's not quite enough to sell me on owning a Nintendo 3DS; but if you've already taken the plunge, Ocarina of Time 3D is pretty much the best 3DS game on the market right now. I can't promise that it'll give you a new perspective on the series as it did for me, but I can promise that it's still one fine adventure.

Good to here it's not just some cheap port, the 3DS is in a tight spot, it needs more games like this if it wants to sell more. Kid Icarus and Paper mario 3DS look very promising as well

It looks incredible. I really wish I owned a 3DS right about now

I doubt it will win many game of the year awards, though. Even if it is a brilliant port, it is essentially still a port. Look at Metroid Prime Trilogy.

^Agreed, buddy.

i'm waiting for a price drop before i buy myself a copy

I think the 1up score is a tad low. It's almost complaining because it doesn't have any guns, it's colourful, free-roaming, lasts more than 6 hours and doesn't have multiplayer. Those are the only ways I can think gaming has changed in the past 12 years

The others seem respectable.

(That was a joke BTW )

yea the 1-up is a bad review.  go and read it.  every other review has things they say were great like the gyroscope aiming and 1-up is like "tacked on pointless gyroscope"  and then he complains about how hard it is to shoot the bats

its like hello, use the POINTLESS gyroscope that everyone is saying that is making aiming so incredible and you can then shoot those bats you can't hit without z-targetting.   i can see him playing now, just running around waiting for z-targetting on a bat and then quickly shooting.

If it keeps this up 3DS will never get a higher rated game than this.

Fitting considering no game on any platform has ever been rated higher than the original.

Screwattack's review.

The final verdict could be considered harsh, but I agree with most of his complaints. Games of this magnitude just don't belong on a handheld, especially on one with a battery life as long as a vertically challenged leprechaun's *clever euphemism for dick*.

And would it really have killed them to spice the soundtrack up a little? I'd pay top money for something like this.
