Forums - Nintendo - All right gamrConnect, we're going to play Zelda games together!

Twilight Princess is holding up well so far. I’m at the Forest Temple now, playing the GC version. I’m elated with how smooth the controls are compared to Ocarina of Time, though there are some minor issues with the hit detection.

My only real gripe is with the Wolf sections. I’m fine with the concept of revisiting areas, but it I can’t help thinking there is a lot of untapped potential on a fundamental gameplay level. Link’s senses could have been used better, especially during combat – and what about hearing?

Then there’s Midna. One can’t deny she’s amazing, but on a play-basis, she not given her due. Combat in the Twilight Realm could easily have been more magic-based, which makes sense since Link doesn’t have any magic at all. It might have been a good idea to let Midna gain new abilities from the Fused Shadows. Maybe, as with Ocarina of Time, this was the original idea…

The plot itself is more refined than one might think – lots of subtle things factor into the narrative, not all of which are brought up or, if they are, treated at all objectively. In particular, it was brave of the designers to treat the Triforce as they did.

Well, I've got as far as the water temple on OoT. The remake is lovely. Much smoother to play.

Just deciding whether I should collect all the Skulltula's - got about 30 so far.

I'm also halfway through LttP. Yay for Zelda!

Yes.

www.spacemag.org - contribute your stuff... satire, comics, ideas, debate, stupidy stupid etc.

Most of the way through Windwaker now, done all but the final dungeon, currently getting the triforce pieces so I can go back below the water, though I am not in any rush and am instead scouring the seas completing all the tasks on the smaller islands and the submarines and platforms, then I think I will get some of the Nintendo Gallery done before I continue the main story.

Got through the Angler's Cave pretty easily, but then what was the deal with that ghost? Run halfway around the world to get a Secret Seashell?

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

You guys are making serious progress.

Anyways, I just made my way through Twilight Princess' Lakebed Temple. It's definitely the most tricky of the first three dungeons, but not very difficult. It reminds me of an ALttP dungeon in that the player has to pay special attention to the overall layout of the dungeon. Adding to that the water flow mechanic and it made for a really solid dungeon. About to warp back in and take on Morpheel and move on.

Everyone has to love Majora's Mask!

hmmm, on a serius note. Played again Twilight Princess this weekend. Finished Lakebed Temple and Arbiter's Grounds. God, Lanayru Province is large. It take me hours to do the twilight/wolf and to explore in the light world. Hour counter is at 20hrs on my overall walkthrough, and expect at least 15 more to finish.

As many of you, I have to face the problem with the over-rupees that this game has. So, I didn't give Agitha any bug, except for the first to improve the wallet. Need 800 rupess to buy Castle Town Mart and become Malo Mart (best TP area).

And now i'm through the Catfish Maw. Nothing too crazy in there, except the room where you have to leap twice past two sets of razors, which i thought you just had to jump through until i picked up the hookshot

Where the hell is the mermaid's necklace? I swam all over that damn bay and found jack-all.

Do you have the fishing hook? If so, try taking a peek under the bridge in Martha's Bay.

Yeah, it's a little far-fetched, but I think obtaining the necklace is completely optional anyway, so whatevs.

I did run into that guy, but wasn't aware that he was in with that, or is that just a broader part of the big trading scheme? (of which i currently have the pineapple)

Mr Khan: Did you notice the red herring I mentioned?
