another gigantic problem with this idea is about pricing. I honestly can't see a new console from MS or Sony going for under $400 at the cheapest if they do a hardware boost now, especially if they pack in those consoles with Move and Kinect. This rumor sounds more like people getting impatient and not realizing that the 360 and PS3 are going to be around longer than their predecessors

This article echoes what many already believe to be the case. MS will announce a new console at E32012 and it will ship that holiday...It's not that big of a surprise the 360 will be in it's 7th year which is the correct time to launch a new console when working on a 10 year plan for the previous model.

I don't see kinect being built in since it needs to be positioned in a specific spot in front of your tv, but I'm sure Kinect will be sold with every new console.

The new console would be very easy to make compatible with all existing Kinects. =)

Ya I would suspect that, but they should make the kinect integrated in the system.

oh ya you reminded me of god of war 3 however i enjoy playing through the whole game of uncharted drakes fortune>>>>>>>>>>>> god of war 3 demo but i think if i actaully get one when it drops to 199 i will get god of war 3. he didn't have any other exclusives except gt5p and later gt5 and i have to say the graphics were great but forza was much more accessible to me as i didn't like the interface they had and the scenary in forza was more colorful. my friend told me infamous is a great game but never got to try it.

Because it is a camera and needs to have a good range of view to fit entire human bodies in the frame without distortion of a weird viewing angle.  Between 2ft to 6ft (better towards the boundaries of that range) are the recommended mounting heights for Kinect.  So unless the console itself was as small as Kinect this would not be logical.

Because the camera needs to see the whole room, the ample heigh is 4 foot, not only that but the camera as a tilting mechanism. Putting it in the 360 doesn't make any sense at all.

I think releasing halo 4 in 2012 and than a new console in 2013 would botch its sales more than having halo 4 be a launch title for the system. I really hope halo 4 gets delayed to 2013 and becomes a launch title for the nextbox. I think it could pass 10 million+ units if there is not another halo until 2015 or 16. If halo 4 is on the 360 it will probably be at 8.5 million when the next box comes out and that will stop it from ever reaching 10 million.
