Forums - Gaming - Platformers are the best genre of games out there!

Where is the love for Rayman gone as Rayman 2 was a classic. Banjo,DK and Mario were great as well.

Sega has not released a good Sonic game since SA 1&2,maybe they are waiting for one of their own consoles to put a good Sonic game on.

I have not played Galaxy, but even Nintendo's latest(MS etc.)have not been as good as they should be.

I just got a PS2 a while back so I can't comment on the shovelware it has.

imo, i think platformers are the best! shooters are second. fighting is 3rd. racing is 4. everything else is later. think of all the famous platformers:

the marios

the ratchet and clanks

the jak and daxters

the crash bandicoots

the banjo kazooies and more!

platformers imo are better than rpgs! (except for final fantasy!)

brain training is a little down the line for me. what's your thoughts?

Yeah, platformers kick ass!

Klonoa is also a great platformer.

I would consider Assassin's Creed a platformer, as the game is 80% hopping around rooftops, poles, and pretty much everything So, if you agree with me, then there's 1 platformer that's doing exceptionally well.

But yes, when there is a traditional platformer released, Mario shoots a star bit to stun it, then spinattacks it into a black hole.

2D platforms = HOORAY

3D platforms = mehh... except for mario

Apparently, the thread starter has played the perfection that is Super Mario Galaxy.....

platfotmers, RPG, and advanture are the best.

if i had money, and rare make it well, Banjo will be the first game that would actually make me really want a 360. loved it on the 64, and im still hoping it will come out on the VC *fingers crossed*
