Tag:I'm not bias towards Nintendo. You just think that way (Admin note - it's "biased".  Not "bias")

Mario Kart Wii bundle + Price Cut = More Sales

NINTENDO

nintendo forever . . .

I think honestly its the fact that Nintendo Wii is still a hot product for casual consumers. Many consumers who aren't hardcore gamers have probably been waiting for a cheaper price tag to jump on board. I know my mom for example planned on waiting till Wii hit 99$ before buying one. Of course my sister and I bought her one a year ago and she loves the shit out of it. But fact is some casuals just have been waiting for the price tag to go down.

Last generation many gamers waited for GameCube, X-Box and PS2 to reach more reasonable prices. Once consoles reached the 150$ price mark they flew off shelves. Even Nintendo's GameCube which had been dead in the water ended up in third by a very close margin.

Fact is people are cheap and casuals aren't hardcore enough to be driven to buying the console early. They want the console for under 200$ so when the price drops to a reasonable level for them, whammo they go out and buy it!

Wow that many more sales from a $50 price cut?.....but i thought the Wii was doomed?

I'd suggest waiting for NPD and Q1 shipments before claiming Wii sales doubled.

Can't be the pricecut

Must be Ghadaffi buying some entertainment for the extra months the stalemate is gonna take.

cause its the Wii! it does wht i wants to do, even giving false hope to its competitors.

Price elasticity effects so far as I can see - i.e. the price cut.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

two words: price cut

People who havent bought a Wii yet will want to fro 150$ .. it's a steal
