Forums - Sales - MS: Alan Wake missed sales expectations, Remedy on limbo

Alan wake seemed like a great game that 'ill likely pickup soon. heres hoping they go multiplatform.

The only thing that made Alan wake "very good" was the millions poured in to the games production. Its actually an average action game at its core...on top of that it didnt sell great. if Microsoft believes that they can invest their millions in to a better more marketable product, I dont blame them.

It sold over a million copies, and that doesn't even include the bundles because those were all DLC codes. I bet it's more like 1.5 million in sales. Still not extraordinary, but with that many copies sold, it still made them money so of course they'll work together again. It did a comparable job to the resident evil games on the wii, so why wouldn't we see more, and why not exclusive to the xbox again?

Well of course it didn't meet expectations thats what happens when you have straight up ZERO advertising for a game and release it on the same day as Red Dead Redemption.

If Alan Wake 2 never happens it will be one of the most dissapointing things thats happened this generation.

What if it comes out next gen?

@Scoobes

well if its next gen thats still ok lol as long as it gets a sequel!!!! The story, atmosphere, and characters in that game were so good they have to continue

That? you complaining about thread titles? That's a good one

OT: Sounds to me like Microsoft is stalling until they desperate enough to make any deal. i don't think remedy can go anywhere else with the IP

And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

it depends on what price all these copies have been sold. if you sell a million copies below your production cost it doesn't make you any money.
