I mean, to see your console in last place, finally outselling the 360 only barely, overhyped AAA games that come out hitting like a T-ball all-star - and 7M lead by the 360 - and folks are still confident the PS3 will win. I guess that's using 'The Secret.' If I had that much faith as you all do in Sony, I'd be a multitrillionaire. OT, this thread phails. I think there should a creating thread limit for newbz. They should be required to have 100 posts logged before they can create threads. That would cut down on some of this foolishness. |
You seem to be 'phailing' in seeing that the PS3 has already surpassed the 360 at this point in its life. ( http://vgchartz.com/hwlaunch.php?cons1=Wii®1=All&cons2=PS3®2=All&cons3=X360®3=All&weeks=110 ) And I might add, is on a much better track to out sell the 360 (along the same time lines) as you can see in the link. Im not big into geometry and angles, but I believe that the PS3 has a steeper climb there. ;)
Also, considering that the 360 2008 line up, while not lack luster, is definitely sub par compared to the Playstation 3's 2008 year you can see that it has the opportunity to continue this surge. Really, all you have to do is think the 360's second year for games, but for the PS3, amazing games that show the power of the system, but with out that nasty little Red Ring problem and a built in Hi-Def player to boot. Add in the fact that most publishers that are multi-platforming thier games are moving to the PS3 as the lead system for programming and porting ease and things only look good.
Unlike most years, this first Quarter is packed with games coming out for the PS3 to maintain sales from Q4 2007, not as high as Christmas, but Im going to venture higher then the 360s Q1 2008 sales. Second Quarter also has a couple very promising PS3 titles coming, and then Q3 and Q4 will hit with MTG4 and (maybe, though I have a hard time thinking Sony would let these two titles slip) FFXIII and White Knight Story along with any unannounced November titles.
I can easily see the Playstation 3 closing the gap with in spitting distance to the 360 in 2008, if not slightly passing it.
The Wii all depends on if it can maintain its sales. People that casually play games typically dont casually play them for long. I wouldn't be surprised though to see a Wii2 come out in the next couple years that is far more technologically advanced machine to give the Wii something it doesn't have over the two other systems, longevity. But if everything stays on the same track, I doubt either machine could pass the Wii.
