It's a move in the right direction. But could they just make more accessible japanese games for Vita??

I mean, Gundam, Super Robot Wars and now Hatsume Miku... Vita's 3 biggest games there, with little to no chance of crossing the ocean...

SRW is probably licensing mess so it probably never leaves Japan. In Miku problem might be with so many vocaloids - who owns IP for them all?

Gundam however should be much easier since it's based on single anime series and Gundam Musou was already released in west.

What is your highest scores so far in Montezuma Blitz? I am sitting at 19.1k so far for the week.

I hope they put out some more freemium titles like this that are more of "Once a Day" style gameplay. I just hope those games are more like this :

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Gundam has a chance, I agree, but kinda minimal. But who cares, it's gundam... you won't buy it. I won't buy it.

I have said this before and will say it again. It's just a matter of time when the game development focus shifts from the psp to the vita..it's already starting to show :)

I think most of the successfull PSP games will go to 3DS unless Sony spends a lot of money. No developer in Japan could really be interested to make games for a handheld with sales like Vita. And most of PSP gamers are shifting to 3DS anyway, because of Monster Hunter & Co

Yes because it makes so much sense to lemming rush to same platform as everyone else to compete for consumer money against Nintendo trinity and tons of big 3rd party games and completly ignore one where you could be releasing without much competition...

... and without a user base that could buy these games? The vita sales (both hardware and software) are so terrible low in Japan that there is no sense in developing games for this handheld unless Sony do something to increase the sales radically.

Yeah that's true. You'd think releasing games on the PSN was a smaller risk. I'd love to see devs release "niche" games in the west in digital form. All you have to worry about is the translation. A lot of the trouble you have to go through when releasing a game can be avoided by going PSN only. The mere thought of having to wait another year for Persona 4 makes me feel depressed.

By the way, what do you guys expect from Sony at e3? Here's hope for games like Patapon 4, Locoroco Vita and a God of War title. Also, a new Jak & Daxter would be more than welcome

I think they will announce all these games you said :D Except for Jak & Daxter. Plus LBPKarting (I don't think it will remain as PS3 exclusive) and a new inFamous. Of course, nem IPs will be there!

That's just now how it works. if it did we will not have big IPs like Hatsune Miku and Gundam coming to vita. If install  base was all that mattered then we wouldn't have seen many initial games on the 3ds either. I'm starting to think people are giving MonHun too much credit. That game will not make or break this system. But this system will definitely get a MH as well, guranteed. Sony are in financial trouble but not enough trouble persuade some big companies to make some games exclusive either and the results will be show at E3, GC and TGS.I mean even now, the line up isn't too bad at all..a hatsune miku, Gundam, persona, two games from gamearts, infaune game etc are all on the horizon

Not even Sony are in a hurry to push big support for vita in JP now which is evident by things like the release of new colors for the psp and keeping it at the same price (which is more expensive than a 3ds iirc) They are making good money off of psp at the moment. The focus will definitely shift by the end of this year almost completely from psp to psv.

Finally some good game anouncement for the vita. I said it many times before. The psp support is still very strong. It will last a little bit till the support went to the vita.

I also think hardware and software will die dramatically in the next weeks but will going strong in june when the games finally release.

Yep and here are some new info
"Sega is bringing Hatsune Miku to the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 3. Sinobi, which has early access to Weekly Famitsu, has first details from the magazine.

Currently operating under the placeholder name of Next Hatsune Miku Project Diva, the new game will retain the basic gameplay systems from the previous Miku games. However, there will be some new elements, including touch controls (apparently referred to as "scratch") and a new technical element where you receive bonuses by connecting combos in a specified time limit. The game will have four difficulty settings.

Vocaloids shown in Famitsu include Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, Megurine Luka, Kaito and Meiko. Songs include World's End Dance Hall (wowaka), Pieretta (nezuki) and Cat Food (Doriko). Modules (these are sort of like costumes) include Hatsune Miku Emerald and Megurine Luka Ruby.

The game is being developed by the staff that worked on the PSP and arcade Hatsune Miku games. A release is planned for Vita this summer and PS3 in 2013. Sinobi's report isn't clear on if the two games will have any differences.

We should be getting lots of details shortly. Sega will open an official site for the game tomorrow. The Vita version will be going playable at Nico Nico's "Chokaigi" event on the 28th and 29th at Makuhari Messe. Details on the playable showing will be posted at this special PlayStation.com site that opens tomorrow."

Hatsune Miku is kinda big in the PSP so Vita now has system seller.

June is the start with P4 Golden, Gundam Seed Destiny, followed up by Trails remake, You also have Ys on the horizon, then Hatsune Miku. Solid line-up. Don't you agree?

oh without a doubt. Things are slowly but surely getting better for vita
