Sinobi, which has early access to Weekly Famitsu, has first details from the magazine. Currently operating under the placeholder name of Next Hatsune Miku Project Diva, the new game will retain the basic gameplay systems from the previous Miku games. However, there will be some new elements, including touch controls (apparently referred to as "scratch") and a new technical element where you receive bonuses by connecting combos in a specified time limit. The game will have four difficulty settings. Vocaloids shown in Famitsu include Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, Megurine Luka, Kaito and Meiko. Songs include World's End Dance Hall (wowaka), Pieretta (nezuki) and Cat Food (Doriko). Modules (these are sort of like costumes) include Hatsune Miku Emerald and Megurine Luka Ruby. The game is being developed by the staff that worked on the PSP and arcade Hatsune Miku games. A release is planned for Vita this summer and PS3 in 2013. Sinobi's report isn't clear on if the two games will have any differences. We should be getting lots of details shortly. Sega will open an official site for the game tomorrow. The Vita version will be going playable at Nico Nico's "Chokaigi" event on the 28th and 29th at Makuhari Messe. Details on the playable showing will be posted at this special PlayStation.com site that opens tomorrow." http://andriasang.com/con0ll/miku_vita_ps3_detailed/ I have said this before and will say it again. It's just a matter of time when the game development focus shifts from the psp to the vita..it's already starting to show :) |
Hatsune Miku is kinda big in the PSP so Vita now has system seller.
June is the start with P4 Golden, Gundam Seed Destiny, followed up by Trails remake, You also have Ys on the horizon, then Hatsune Miku. Solid line-up. Don't you agree?

June looks like a good month for Vita both in Japan and in West (gravity +lbp).

I think most of the successfull PSP games will go to 3DS unless Sony spends a lot of money. No developer in Japan could really be interested to make games for a handheld with sales like Vita. And most of PSP gamers are shifting to 3DS anyway, because of Monster Hunter & Co.

to be perfectly honest dude I think you just expected too much from the system. I agree the lack of ps1 support and remote play is a big problem but from the game front, considering this is a launch system, so far things have been pretty great. The RPGs will surely come but don't expect anywhere near the level of psp in the first 6-12months. Not sure what the issue with remoteplay tbh.. :S btw have you or anyone here played Stardust delta? Played the demo and it was a LOT of fun ..but I think I kinda sucked at it since I am nowhere near the top scorers in my friends list. Is it a really difficult game? |
I think I set the 10th highest score in the world on Stardust last week :P. Might of been knocked down a bit, plan on getting into the top 3 soon but ain't had time.
It's an amazing game and I heartily recommend it. I don't find it difficult but I played the original on PS3 a lot so I think it's just ingrained into my brain. It depends if beating a high score is something you can keep coming back to do more and more.

Yes because it makes so much sense to lemming rush to same platform as everyone else to compete for consumer money against Nintendo trinity and tons of big 3rd party games and completly ignore one where you could be releasing without much competition...

Been trying to play some Graces F and now my fiance wants to use the TV... If SONY didn't sell me on a false promise and questionable advertising and instead followed through with what they promise then I would still be playing Graces F... |
Don't worry, it's just the transition from PSP to Vita that takes some time. The PSP exploded so late in its life cycle it's only natural the focus isn't on Vita yet. 2013 will see a lot more support from japanese developers and there's a nice list of games already announced. Buying a handheld at launch will always make you feel dissapointed. Just wait till e3. Especially if you care for 1st party stuff
It's a move in the right direction. But could they just make more accessible japanese games for Vita??
I mean, Gundam, Super Robot Wars and now Hatsume Miku... Vita's 3 biggest games there, with little to no chance of crossing the ocean...

Yeah that's true. You'd think releasing games on the PSN was a smaller risk. I'd love to see devs release "niche" games in the west in digital form. All you have to worry about is the translation. A lot of the trouble you have to go through when releasing a game can be avoided by going PSN only. The mere thought of having to wait another year for Persona 4 makes me feel depressed.
By the way, what do you guys expect from Sony at e3? Here's hope for games like Patapon 4, Locoroco Vita and a God of War title. Also, a new Jak & Daxter would be more than welcome

To be honest, I understand it is a launch period and it is natural for the number of releases per month to be slow and can live with that. What bothers me most right now is the lack of advertised features 2-months in, even though I see homebrewers pulling it off without issue. They really need to stop this habit of promising things, advertising said things on in-store kiosks and then backpedaling after the fact and saying things like "We have no plans to..."
If they had no plans then they shouldn't show it off, let alone advertise those "Non-plans" in stores as reasons to purchase a device. It truly does end up leaving sour tastes in peoples mouths and can't be a good long term strategy. I am one of those who put off other purchases all because of the idea of PS3 gaming on the Vita via remote play and ended up being fooled.
iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
