You always make me so jealous with your lists :(

With the amount of games I'm importing, I've decided to get them all digital except for Tokyo Xanadu and Utawarerumono. I think that all the game you want will most likely come to the west except for maybe Utawarerumono, so you'll get to enjoy them when they come over :p

Seeing as we have such a new drought, I'll have my rant again.

Been playing DIRT 3: Complete Edition on Steam... omg my hopes for a game like this on Vita were so high in 2012. but 3 years on we've no sign of it and I no longer expect it. Such sad times :( Vita is such a wasted potential it genuinely makes me sad.

I'd actually say it's a bigger waste of hardware than when SEGA exited the hardware market with the Dreamcast.

It really is such a shame there is no demand for Western games on portables.

Biggest kick in the nads for me was SSX.  The director even spoke about it:

http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2011/10/27/ssx-could-be-hitting-the-slopes-on-a-vita/

If this game is really successful, I think one of the first things we would look at is ‘what other platforms does this game make sense for?’; ‘what would a Vita version look like?’; and I think that’s something, you know, if we’re successful–I’m sorry–when we’re successful, that’s something we’re going to look into for sure.

Sadly the game came out and bombed, and Vita bombed, so there was no chance.

And you know, it would've been fucking perfect on Vita.  Connect to the internet before you go out to download the day's global events, chase a few high scores while you're out and about, and then upload them when you get back home.  Perfect, and I'd have absolutely loved that.

I have to make do with SSX On Tour which I managed to get through the glitch... which is easily the worst SSX game ever made :(

I'm also a little miffed we didn't get LBP Karting like was talked about:

http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/PS+Vita/LittleBigPlanet+Karting/news.asp?c=45261

Other than that, I would've liked a version of The Sims on Vita (again I got Sims 2 through the glitch, but it's not the same); a few more racing games (But then again, decent ones are barely releasing on consoles these days.  GRID 2 & NFS Rivals are the only two I can think of that I'd want) and a few other bits and pieces (Borderlands: Pre-sequel would've been nice; Civilization Revolution would be cool, but turns out we might be getting that!)

More than western support though, I'm a little disappointed we haven't gotten the full brunt of bigger Japanese games.  Kingdom Hearts 1.5/2.5 HD on Vita would've been nice.  I'd have loved Tekken Tag Tournament 2 when that came out.  I'd have bought Tales of Symponia Chronicles on Vita if that had existed, etc. etc.

All in all though, I got some great first party stuff in the first two years that I've enjoyed, and the latter years have been filled with some surprisingly great localiations along with the odd brilliant indie.  I am happy with my purchase without a doubt.

It's really sad isn't it? I just don't know what's sadder, that they didn't come to Vita, or that it's clear there is no real gaming market for handhelds in the West.

So I've been playing this game called Dungeon Travelers 2. I got it as a review copy, although I'm no longer with the site I received it for, so it's hard to say where I'll ultimately be putting up the review. That said, I can give a preview impression of the game, so let's lay things out. I can only reveal my impression for content up to one dungeon beyond the demo content, so don't expect too much you won't be able to find out for yourself. That said, my impression:

The game is a first person dungeon crawling JRPG experience with basically an entirely female cast. At the point I've reached, as the main character, I am still the only male in the game. This even includes the monsters, which are designed largely as female with slight monster alterations, in a mix of fully clothed to the more common barely clothed. There are non-gendered fruit monsters mixed in too, to add some diversity. There is a large emphasis on the female form, as is made exceptionally clear. Some of the images are so revealing, the game actually barely skirted receiving an AO rating from the ESRB. They managed to get away with only altering four images though, so for the most part, the game avoided being censored to death. I can safely say that those seeking ecchi content in their games will be thoroughly satisfied.

I've enjoyed the dungeon crawling, and the story telling, although skirting dangerously close to a visual novel in some respects, has been well done. So far, the difficulty curve has jumped around a bit. The first dungeon was easy. The second dungeon was challenging, eased out by the boss, and then the boss took two shots without being too brutal. The third dungeon kicked my ass a bit and the boss was a challenge. By the fourth dungeon, I was pretty comfortable with my rate of leveling, but the boss wrecked me. This is in part due to the fact that I find magic to be exceptionally overpowered. It is ridiculous how quickly a party can be wiped out by an enemy using attack magic, especially if it can hit a whole row, of which you only have front and back. Granted, this can be mitigated a bit by boosting resistances with gear, but that introduces another interesting aspect of the experience.

Gear in the game is acquired in dungeons. Everything I've gotten is ??? armor, sword, axe, staff, helmet, accessory, etc.. You get this gear identified at the item shop. There is no gear shop, so you can't just buy a bunch of fire resistance when you need it. That can make magic exceptionally troubling if you don't plan ahead far enough and stash away gear in your storage. That said, I have only hit one point where a specific resistance is non-negotiable, so I won't cite it as a major issue for me at this point. I do like being surprised when identifying gear and finding something great though, especially when a character is unlucky enough to still be stuck with gear two dungeons old.

Overall, I'd say it's a good experience at this point. There are things to give some direction if you feel the need to level grind, such as quests, and the skill point system is interesting, although it feels way too easy to put points in the wrong skills at the wrong time. I still need to explore more of my options there though, so I don't want to say anything definitive.

Nice impressions! Why not offer them to VG Chartz main site? And if they don't want it, I'm sure Vitalounge would be happy! :)

So our hero of tits are life and ass is hometown has constantly stated that IA/VT won't make it over to the west. Any of you still think there might be a chance Xseed is the most likely publisher but holy smokes they have a lot on there hands. If not I'll just wait for a Chinese version cause damn Japanese pricing.

Bet with gooch_destroyer, he wins if FFX and FFX-2 will be at $40 each for the vita. I win if it dont

C'mon XSEED. Work it out somehow!

Yay SC evo, another game for the 2015 list !

Trails SC is already delayed again and might not make summer release (fall maybe), at least thats the discussion that is happening on gaf/xseed forums.
