So basically, the two biggest mistakes they made with the PSP were - it got too many home-console esque games, and didn't get enough post-launch support from Sony, and they intend to rectify that with Vita.

Three years down the line, and Vita gets absolutely bugger all support from Sony.  The only major title releasing this year from Sony is a port of a PS3/PS4 game.  The only major titles last year were Freedom Wars (new IP, fair enough) with console-esque production values; and Borderlands 2... a port of a PS3 game.

Shows what a load of hot air Yoshida was spouting at Vita's launch.

Was Shu talking about Vita? The Vita that got during its first year games like Uncharted, Resistance, LittleBigPlanet, ModNation Racers, Motorstorm, Playstation All-Stars, Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty and so on? The Vita they totally forgot about BEFORE the PS4's launch? That PS Vita?

Anyways, at least Vita, unlike the PSP, still has lots of games coming every year even though Sony has almost abandoned it. So you can say that Sony in a way kept their promise. I mean, they are not making huge AAA games but they are either porting games (RE: R2) or encouraging developers (third parties and indies) to bring their games (also) to Vita.

Yeah, PSP definitely had a lull in releases in the middle, but I feel Sony did keep the momentum going.  2009 especially had a bit of a revival (LBP; Jak & Daxter; Motorstorm; Resistance) which carried on until 2010 (God of War; Modnation; SOCOM).  That's a hell of a lot more than Vita is getting 4-5 years after launch (which would be next year anyway, when I predict we'll get... nothing.

Though, I do appreciate the home console porting personally.  I hope we see more of it.

Just watched the Yomawari trailer again (with sound) when I got home. Soundtrack seems ace!

The SNAFU games are just pure VNs right?

Yes, the first one was basically a dating sim. Going on different routes with different girls.

What does SNAFU stands for?

Edit: I googled it.

Yeah, PSP had a couple of good games at the beginning and at the end. However, it was like just a dozen titles per year. Some of them were good (like the ones you mentioned), and some others were utterly crap (I'm looking at you Jak and Daxter).

But Vita doesn't have dozens of games coming every year, it literally has lots of games coming every month. And yeah, Vita doesn't have a lot of AAA Sony titles nowadays, but it has a lot of Third Party (mostly Japanese) titles.

PD: I'd love Gio Corsi to port any of these to Vita: South Park the Stick of Truth, Journey, Heavy Rain, Metro 1&2, Twisted Metal (PS3). And those are fair choices, I know games like GTA, The Last of Us, GT6, and so on, are way too big to be ported.

Heavy Rain'd be cool.  I think all of Telltale's stuff has shown that Vita can be a good fit for these kind of interactive adventures.  Don't see it happening though.

I'd LOVE to see Twisted Metal PS3 on Vita, but that game was all about multi-player, and there just isn't the userbase on Vita to make it worthwhile.  There wasn't enough single player content to really justify it (and the single-player stuff was pretty poor, anyway).

I still think Demon's Souls has a chance.  It's on Phyreengine; it's an earlier-in-the-gen PS3 game that yes would be a bit taxing, but Vita's capable of running it.

I think it's more likely they just pick some random third party game though, if we even get anything at all.
