I actually ahead and downloaded some of the free rhythm games over the weekend. Wouldn't playing them count as activation? |
You physically have to go into system settings and "activate" something to do with PSM to be able to play the games after the September full shutdown.
Steps on activating your device:
- For PS Vita users: You will need to complete the device activation process by performing the steps below between March 10, 2015, and September 10, 2015:
Go to [Settings] > [PSN℠] > [System Activation] > [PlayStation Mobile] > [Activate] > [OK].

Kenka Bancho isn't a brawller-beat'em up with highscool delinquents? Yakuza is more like a Shenmue with Japanese Mafia.. I think is pretty different... Yakuza have rpg elements in its core... |
This feels just like when I was having a discussion with someone on NISA's forums about Dynasty Warriors vs. Neptunia U. Yes, I know there are differences between the two titles so they're not the exact same, but on a gameplay level they're similar enough that if you enjoy one; you're likely to get the same kind of enjoyment from the other.
I genuinely don't see how you think Kenka Bancho and Yakuza are so different. There's even articles out there noting similarities between them. Street brawling fights; free-roaming and a whole host of minigames. What about them is it that's so different? Setting? So does that mean that Tales and Star Ocean are nothing alike because one is traditional fantasy and the other is sci-fi?
OT: It seems the new NIS RPG is developed by Pyramid, of Patapon fame (and they also did the Legend of Heroes Evolution remakes, apart from the most recent one). On the one hand, Patapon 4 is well off the cards by this point :( On the other hand, at least NIS are still handing out contract work which is a good thing in my books, given the supposed money worries.
