Yeah I back this up. I'm already preparing myself for the next TGS's bomb.
I think everyone needs to brace themselves for GR 2 PS4 only. I've already prepared myself for no vita games from Sony. I remember reading a tweet by the Director ? of GR saying that he was working on something like a spiritual successor to GR. I always found the wording a bit weird, not to mention no platform was ever mentioned for GR 2.
Also, I read somewhere that Shu tweeted that the focus of the conference is PS4 so yeah I don't think there is going to be any game from Sony for the vita, just 3rd party games.
Well my guess would be that this is Sony's last handheld. They are trying to push PS4 sales in Japan which have been struggling because they need to turn the market around to what it was pre Sony handhelds. After all it was the Sony handhelds that killed the Japanese home console market =P
Home consoles in Japan shall rule once again

Probably so.
And this is the worst part of the equation.
With Sony quitting the handheld market, I'm afraid that a certain kind of portable gaming will die, and we'll be left with the typical Pokemon/Cooking Mama/Sponge Bob stuff for Nintendo and the alternative "Free to Play but Pay to Win" social games for the smartphones.
But there's nothing to do about it. I think that not even a late Sony marketing campaign could change the fact that casual gamers don't feel attracted to Vita. As for the hardcore gamers, a device cannot live on them alone, expecially if the software is going toward the indie products instead of high quality productions.
Um, shouldn't there be something more important that we should be worried about? There's no competition. I'm okay with nintendo and could settle for a 3ds or 4ds, but the market won't be healthy to say the very least.
I disagree with this porting decision.......These exclusives are the reasons why gamers should buy Vita and SCE should leave at that! If PS4 is already successful then good for them, but don't kill Vita to promote more PS4. With their increased incomes they should more focused on reviving Vita!
I'm seriously mad at SCE, they giving up too soon.
I just found out that recently sony acquired a new first party studio Pixel Opus. It's all fine and dandy, but here's the thing. Sony said AAA economy does not work on vita. Understandable as handheld games are $20 cheaper than their console counterparts and they sell less. We also know there have been layoffs lately and there might not be enough manpower to support both consoles. Fair enough.
But when they did get a first party studio and make games that don't require high budget, what did they do? They put it on all three consoles: Entwined. They could easily make it a vita exclusive, and although the effect is minimal, it would still help, but they didn't. I know I'm being selfish here, but the vita needs all the help it can get and wouldn't these small but fun games be suitable for the vita?
SCEA and SCEE should look at Japanese studios as examples. AAA games for handheld doesn't need high budgets to make, even USD 1 mil is enough. Look at JRPG's, their budgets are average $500k-800k (or less) and they don't need 1 million sales to get profit. Lets say the game is $39.99, they only need at least 40k sales and they could get $1.6 mil, enough to create sequels or new ip.
But this is just my roughly estimation, but you get the idea :)
Totally agree, they should really bring back AA and A games that allow for more freedom to explore.
