This is something I'll never understand. I must one of the few to not care about the shape of my media, as long as I can get it.

And I'll never understand that!
If this were a cheap indie game which I were taking a punt on for a few quid and if it's rubbish I'll just forget about it, then fine, I'm all for digital.
If this were a game in an established franchise which I've played multiple entries in and I know I'll love the end product of, then fine, I'm all for digital.
This is neither of those things. I'm not made of enough money (yet) that I can afford to blow bucketloads on something I'm 90% sure I'll like (but there's still an element of doubt) with 0 resale opportunities if I don't like it.
And aside from that, as much as I understand the two sides of an argument of a digital future (i.e. "but they could shut down the service at any minute and then all I'd have is whatever I saved on my memory card!" vs. "but your game card could break at any time"), fact is that physical media has proven itself. I bought PS1 games in 1994 and they still work now, 20 years later. Digital media hasn't proven itself to me yet.
With the imminent release of PS Vita TV, a home console with an expected lifetime undoubtedly much longer than my OLED Vita, given the opportunity to - I would like to future proof my games.
So yeah, I care about the shape of my media. I'm not so opposed to digital that I'll flatly refuse to buy something if there's no other option (e.g. I own Atelier Totori Plus as a digial download) but where there is another option, for the time being I'd much rather choose that.
Hope that goes a little way into helping you to understand, at least.

If it's the choice between getting it and not getting it; would rather have it digital than never (DD, SMT IV, AT). But yeah, if at all possible then it's physical for me. Like to have the box as proof of purchase and something to look at from time to time

It's hard to explain (and to have to have a certain mindset for it), but physical copies are much more to me than a shape or a container for the digital stuff that is on it.
If I look at my copy of Pokémon Sapphire, I see my 9 year old self on Christmas Eve of 2004, awaiting his presents. He opens a small, but rather heavy one, and inside is a silver GBA and, underneath its packaging, Pokémon Sapphire. The first console/handheld video game he's ever owned. When I look at my copy of Fire Emblem Thracia 776 (the deluxe box) I see myself running to my mother, asking her to buy something of off eBay for me because it's really rare and seems to go for a decent price. I shiver as I press the bid button and await the end of the auction. And then, it is over, I've got the game, it is mine. I can barely stand, my legs are heavy and wobbly, I have to sit down.
When I look at my CD of Lynyrd Skynyrd's first album, I see myself sitting in front of my laptop, listening to Free Bird for the first time. I almost pass out at the guitar solo because it is just mindblowing and listen to the song on repeat for the next few days. Then, that same weekend, I take a trip to Cologne and buy the album, which also happens to be the first CD I've bought myself.
I will always remember that stuff. Looking at my digital copy of WipEout HD, I'm like "Oh yeah, I have that to. When did I get it again? The PSN incident or something?". It just means absolutely nothing for me. Even Fire Emblem Sacred Stones's digital copy, which got me into the franchise and was a big step on my way towards my gaming taste today doesn't evoke much, and I tend to associate these memories with my physical copy, which, in actuality, was bought almost 1 1/2 years later.
Maybe I'm a sentimental fool, but I just need something to remind me of all the good memories, and digital copies just don't do that for me. Never have, never will. For me, that's a huge part of why I want physical copies. It's just good to know that you actually own, can actually touch something that might just have changed your life, knowing that the data on it, the actual game or music or video or whatever it contains will be gone some day. The container will remain, probably for my lifetime, and with it, something to touch, to look at, that "contains" the memories.
I'm rambling on. I don't want to imply that everyone who prefers physical copies thinks like this, but for me, it's a huge reason why I want physical copies for everything as long as possible, and that goes for every media, every, well, thing out there.
And with that you're all probably thinking I'm a huge freak. :B

I understand you, even though we're in minority here. I actually always rather get digital for Vita. First, I don't need to wait for delivery. Second, I really hate fiddling with those little cards. Third, the games I play, and Vita games in general, have hardly any resale value in Croatia. I have been trying to give away a few cards I've no need for, no takers.
But then, I'm no hardcore gamer or collector. I enjoy gaming, but to me those games are the same as movies or series I watch. Download, play/watch, delete, next...
I haven't held a PS4 disc ever in my life, I have a few Vita games on card that I'm trying to get rid off, and a movie...last disc I had was bought at a gas station for €1 about five years ago...

really need to get a 64GB memory card...but short on cash :(

Since PS Now is going to be on Vita soon, heres my PS4 playing FFXIII, soon my Vita will too, quality seems great, not feeling lag and picture, I don't see too much of a downgrade, about the same as top quality Remote Play lol

I will clarify that I prefer physical copies over digital copies, but I'm not averse to them at all.
Wait... I may have forgotten or I missed this but SAO for NA/EU is only digital?
