Really? You know that every scandalous bit that gets "reported" on is entirely overblown and exagerrated for reaction and attention.

You tap (you can rub, but tapping works better) cards to evolve them to a higher form. That's the only part of the game where it comes up. The gameplay is what is shown in the video.

I also know that Compile Heart understand their niche very, very well and know what kind of stuff they like and buy games for.

While people are talking about Monpiece, is that new Moero Chronicles or whatever related and is it another card game or a more traditional JRPG?

I'll be totally honest if I bought it I'd probably do it for teh lulz to see if it's as dirty as people say it is, though from what outlawauron says it might not be all that bad, which rather ironically removes the point for me. Still power to you if it's your thing and yay for more localisations, thinking about it there can't be all that many Japan-only games left for the small publishers

A lot of these games have silly elements in them, but they're almost never a central part of the game. It's overblown because websites and blogs can report whatever the hell they want because the source is in a language 99% of its audience doesn't understand. So people get to laugh and points fingers, no matter how justified. It's just not websites either, Aksys is guilty of this in promotion of their own games.

You'll likely still get some of that lulz if you want, but it's all going to be much tamer than whatever your expectations are.

I see. To be honest I was a little sceptical - the western gaming press seems to be obsessed with pointing out anything sexual in any games and making a big deal of it, things like Dragon's Crown being a case in point, and like you said writing a 'lol, look at this Japanese booby game' article is a pretty easy way to attract clicks

Anyway, I'm not that bothered to be honest, I'm 20hrs into Ni No Kuni and I'm perfectly happy with my games right now thank you very much :)
