Whether VGC was overtracking Wii-U or undertracking Vita (or both) is debateable; but adjustments were needed at least.

Europe has never had a problem affording handheld consoles in the past.

I just find this a really odd thing to be arguing.  Population does have an effect on how many handhelds can be sold, regardless of what you say, unless you believe that 500m+ Europeans are unable to afford Vitas and 100% of Japanese people are able to afford them.

You should note that the tendencies in home console/handheld sales are changing in both Japan and West and are going in other directions, so you can't look at old platforms as indicators for current gen. 3DS is selling 25% more in Japan than in EU even though the support for the West is very good, so why even though Vita is still selling worse in Japan, does everyone see that market as the one in which Vita is doing fine? It's the only market that gets good support, regularly gets good games targetet at the Japanese gamer. We don't get it and still stay on par in terms of sales and yet are considered a lost cause. It's just stupid, give us simmilar support and watch Vita go.

I mean that we get all Marios, Zeldas, Mario Karts, SSBs, Pokemons, etc. Every single big 1st party game that Western gamers care about is here and there is a big number of them. Nobody buys Nintendo platforms for third parties anyway, so other devs, Wester or Eastern, don't matter. In case of Vita we get no games that we'd be interested in.

This is the case for most handheld games.

All those game are also big in Jpan,In Japan 3ds got support from first party and third party.

Yeah, but this doesn't matter at all. People in the West don't care if the Japanese like the same games or not. They only care if they get the games they like and it is the case with 3DS, where we get big games almost every month. When it comes to Vita we just got the first noteworthy game of 2013 in Killzone and are about to get the second, and last one, in Tearaway. Japan got a much better support and yet we're going head to head. If we got good games as often as Japan gets them, we'd be even further ahead. I just don't get it why people claim West isn't beyond salvation, when we still are ahead of every other region, mainly by showing our good will, cause Sony sure didn't deserve to get the best sales in Europe. All they have to do is start supporting the damned console. If the piss on the PS4 the way they do on Vita it won't sell as well.
