One thing guys... on the freedom Wars trailer/promotional.. at the end there's a date November 21st... it isn't the same date for the reveal of the next Persona game that have been hinted latelly? could be a event where SONy will reveal those and some other PSVita games?

Let's hope so, would be awesome. We deserve a bit more love from Sony, if just in the form of announcements.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

Again, PSP couldn't handle those draw distances or that level of detail in the environments/car models in a million years. I think someone has rose tinted glasses of how PSP games looked...

Here's DIRT2 from PSP

Yep that all looks IDENTICAL to WRC4...

Here's some Gran Turismo for you which was over 5 years in the making with a higher budget than any 3rd party portable title would ever be granted.

Not identical, but not very far from Dirt 2 for psp. Sorry for you, but I don't think it's coming from my eyes. It's just obvious.

WRC4 is just ugly. Maybe it's a fun game I don't know, but it's ugly for a vita game. I have played Killzone merc, Most Wanted, Wipeout 2048 and WRC4 do not even come close to their toes in terms of graphics.

Racing games without top notch graphics ? What about a knight's game without swords ?

PS VITA is beyond powerful. It's a small ps3. There's no fucking excuse for a racing game to be ugly on it. Stop trying to support any vita games at any cost mate, that makes no sense. Be realistic about those game's qualities. And that apply to all of you.

Did not know this thread was about worshiping any vita's games like blind fanboy. Man up.

Quality exists. Same goes for mediocrity.

Lol, thanks for making my day with such a ridiculous post :)

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

Have you played the demo? The game really looks very decent on the Vita. Especially when compared with the PS3 version. The PS3/360 version are the ones that i thought didnt look great, but the Vita one is comparable to those and is on a portable.

The Vita is unfortunely not as powerful as a PS3. The Vita only has 128MB of RAM while the PS3 has 256MB. Its just not possible for the Vita to render PS3 level of graphics. Its definitly more than a Wii but its less than an X360/PS3.

Decided to grab a few screenshots of WRC4 for anyone who wants to see it. Obviously it looks far better on the OLED and these struggle to give the sense of depth the visuals have thanks to the huge draw distance.

The car models look great, but the game would profit from a little bit of anti-aliasing. The red nets flicker like hell in the demo and you can see jaggies everywhere.

Its always funny how everyone is so demanding of the Vita.I agree, but im thinking anti-aliesing was a sacrifice in name of the fps. There is no doubt this is the best looking rally game in a portable console though.

You have a bad attitude. Remember, Vita is a handheld, you shouldn't compare it to PS3, because it is not as powerful. If a game pushes the boudaries of what we get on a handheld, it deserves to get the credit. This is by far the best rally game on a handheld and looks really ok when you play it. It doesn't blow your mind like KZ:M, but it isn't ugly. It's ok. And by being ok, it's the best rally game in handheld history, it is also a significant step forward in comparison to the previous entry. It deserves some respect.

I've just started Monaco for a WRC2 team on the Career mode. OMG this is such a massive leap forward over the WRC3 game! The handling is really really slippery like you're actually racing on ice! (all the surfaces now handle differently, whereas WRC3 kind of all handled the same)

And yeah, there is so much more depth to the courses, way more detail, far more trees (and although they're still a bit cardboard cut out, they still look far far better than the previous game).

I hope snowprince can show me the PSP games that look remotely close to this, because I think they'll need buying on PSN. However I get the feeling it was all bull as I've not found anything on PSP remotely close. Yes it has aliasing problems, and some of the textures are on the low resolution side, but overall it's a very technically impressive game.

Just for a bit of perspective, here was Evolution Studios' (Motorstorm) 4th effort at a WRC game for the PS2...

So yeah, considering this is a handheld, it's definitely above PS2.

Well.. I think it looks pretty good for a "small" dev team like this... and compared to WRC3 is looks a lot better... bythe time WRC6 release we'll have something a lot better...

And rally racoing games are fun... I remeber playing V-Rally 3 on GBA a lot... looked crappy comapred to PSX's but was fun...

Heck, I'd rather there were more teams like Milestone making Vita games in the west.

One of the things that fascinates me about the Japanese gaming industry is that there are developers like Nihon Falcom/Nippon Ichi/Compile Heart/Gust/Vanillaware/Acquire who can churn out full retail release games that need to sell like 50k copies to break even. Obviously, they prefer more sales and do often make games that go over these budgets; but should they need to, they can keep going indefinitely if they keep selling to their niche. And they haven't switched to digital-only despite it being cheaper, too.

In the west, we don't have anyone like this. You pretty much have your AAA studios and your indies. AAA spend big budgets and need millions of physical sales; indies have small budgets and release digitally to moderate expectations. There don't seem to be many companies that target a small niche and just stick to that.

Anyway, how this relates to WRC4: Milestone Srl. seem to be doing exactly that. With all their games, actually. These aren't boundary pushing, massive titles because they shouldn't be. Games based on racing licences inevitably are going to have a limited crowd of people interested in them. So they budget accordingly, but still seem to make excellent games. I appreciate that. And I wish there were more western devs who did it.
