Is it comfirmed that SCEA had block the release of Monster Hunter 3rdp in the west?

I think is Campom who blocked ut release in the west because psp software was dead in this time

We're talking about the HD remaster for PS3. Capcom wanted to bring it over, but there was an issue with SCEA/SCEE PSN and ad-hoc parties. From what Sven said on the issue, the hang up was with SCEA.

Yes, which is why: "And I quote: 'Hey Sony we're making Monster Hunter 4 for 3DS, think you can fix Adhoc party for us?' Sony: ' Go fuck yourselves'"

Maybe. I really wouldn't be surprised if MH4 3DS was just the natural result of Nintendo and Capcom working together on MH Tri on the Wii.

Xbox got Steel Battalion, too. That one hurt.

Anyway, it's not like they didn't support the PS2 or anything. The games they ended up putting on the PS2 ultimately dwarfed what they put out on the other two. But it was just strange to watch them flounder around on two struggling consoles like they did. Letting a famous Sony hater like Mikami try to migrate the entire Resident Evil series to the Gamecube was beyond idiotic. I always got the sense that maybe they didn't want Sony to have too strong a hand and so tried to help out Nintendo a little bit, but maybe I'm just reading too much into it.

Maybe, Capcom and Square both try to get Sony bankrupt.  Then they screw up, loose a lot of money, then run back to Sony with their tails between their legs begging for forgiveness.  It's becoming a cycle for those two.

LOL, you do know Sony are major shareholders in SQUAREENIX? I dont think damaging Sony's bank is in there best intrest.

... Now to hope I have my facts straight and dont end up looking like an ass, probably should have checked  before posting. Ahh whatever, too busy watching some good old WWF and playing Soul Sacrifice =D

If by "maojr" you mean 8%, then yes!

Does that put them in say the top 5 shareholders? Thats a decent amount. and yes major probs the wrong word (major=>50% right? im not good with this shit LOL)

Bleh I had a typo.  Oh well.  They have a higher share than most, but that's because the people who own the most shares have a huge chunk.  Horii owns I think 20-30%, and the Square side owns an equal amount.  I think between Enix and Square there's about 70% between them.  Sony has no influence on anything.  Hell when Sony owned 20% of Square at the time, they had no influence.

Beyond : Two Souls demo APPROVED.

Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate trailer PS Vita trailer, and bunch of character clips

I don't think Sony "blocked" Monster Hunter Freedom 3 per say.  I think this entire thing came out when Capcom said "Hey Sony, Monster Hunter 4 is going to the 3DS... can you fix Ad Hoc party for us?"  and Sony said "Go fuck youselves". As far as Gamecube and Xbox support, not really.  Capcom generally throws games onto consoles to see what works/doesn't.  Xbox just got Onimusha 1 and Dino Crisis, that's it really cause they didn't stick.  Capcom 5 was directly because of Mikami.  That asshat had it out for Sony.  Though those financial troubles were from him which is why Capcom showed him the door.

If Capcom did not want Sony to have a too strong hand(though i'm 100% sure that capcom were the last to show such altruistic signs in favour of competetion) they would have done the same to Nintendo= releasing MH on vita instead of 3ds.

Possibly, or maybe they're happy with smart phones as an alternative to the 3DS.

It would not be altruistic to not want a major platform holder to be in a position to behave like Nintendo in the '80s and early '90s.

There's also no reason for Capcom to not have made the game multiplatform.  Hell if the Vita game was made they automatically have a PS3 port of the game that they could market outside of Japan.  Let's face it, Monster Hunter on Wii U isn't exactly a good idea (Though I haven't looked at Monster Hunter 3's sales so I can be terribly wrong.)

Metal Gear Solid 5 is on Wii U? Phantasy Star is now on 3DS?

Capcom has been their biggest franchises on Nintendo platforms. SF is multi, although they are making exclusives for X1 and PS4.

I do kinda understand the point he's making.  3DS gets more support from "big" Japanese publishers (Square-Enix; Capcom; Level 5), at least certainly with retail releases, than Vita does.  And it got those games from the beginning of its life.

I think Namco spreads evenly across the two, perhaps even favouring Vita more.

But most of Vita's support comes from the tiny devs/publishers.  Even MAQL and Kadokawa aren't really that big.

I know. I'm just not a fan of the chicken little mindset.
