I do not care wether there's room for other games or not. All I see is all the news, almost all the discussion in this thread are related to crappy Jrpg game, weird japanese type of games... And yes it bothers me since I like the vita, and I know a bunch of people do not post here anymore because of you guys. Someone said this thread was called " the ps vita cult ", personnaly I heard about this thread being called " The otaku weirdo thread ". 

Let's rename this thread : "Games for crappy tasted people" and make another vita serious thread where we can talk about serious games we want on the vita, game that could seriousely make it bomb in the charts, specs... I don't know, all the things that could interest anyone looking into buying the vita. Or at least, let's talk about things that could interst anyone. Not just the few of the you who have clearly pinch their tent here are intersted in.

The vita is maybe the most promising device we have actually, and all I heard/read about is a bunch of crappy JRPG ( Yes because they're crappy JRPG, I liked Chrono Trigger and War of lion, but all of your games are clearly turds ). Seriousely guys ? Seriousely ? 

Oh and I know taste are personal, but do not hide behind it. Quality and mediocrity exist. You like those games, fine, I won't never blame you for that. But do not try to make them look good, well made, appealing or interesting, because they're not. Hence probably one, beside the Otaku or all the guy close to it, nobody give a fuck about them and almost every gamers mock them. Hell, like I said earlier in this thread even japanese are ashame of those games.  

And I do not have problem with japanese game, nor RPG. I highly consider Kingdom hearts, Crono Trigger, and DQV and DQVIII. Only crappy games bother me. Unfortunetly, a lot of japanese game are crappy ones. Especially the JRPG that are coming to the vita lately. And what bother me the most is people trying to defend them like they're were good piece of taste. 

I mean, I like spending some time on fail compilation on youtube. But hell, I'll never try to make this "hobby" look good or "normal". I know this is weird, I know this is kind of dumb. I accept it and it never prevented (prevent?) me to enjoy it. Let's just be honest here and stop all those "It's just a matter of taste" autopilot statement. 

Edit : Rut' I'm not 27 yold. I'm not from those people who put true information about themselves on internet. I'm younger than that, more close to my 20. It could explain why I'm "uncivilised". At least, it could explain it in your small mind where uncivilised behaviors are related to how old you are. To be quite honest, it was quite obvious from your posts that you're neither 27, nor from UK. Well at least I hope that at 27 you'll have better common sense, and that people from UK actually spell better than you... But I guess that's a debate for other threads.

 What baffles me is why did you purchase the PS Vita, if you consider the JRPG genre to be "crappy". The PSV is a successor to PSP that managed to amass the highest number of niche JRPGs ever. Besides the PSP was most popular in Japan, and following the same logic it was prudent to assume that PSV will have the biggest following in Japan as well, so thus games developed for it should complemente their biggest market. At least at first... And we can see that in games that were already released on PSV, or will be released in near future:

Soul Sacrifice, Toukiden, Ragnarok Odyssey, God Eater 2, Phantasy Star On-line 2, Freedom Wars, Persona 4: Golden, The Legend of Heroes games, Ys: Memories of Celceta, FF X/X-2 HD...

So according to you, the games I just listed are "turds"? And if Japanese are so ashamed of this games and consider them crap, why do they then keep on buying them? If I consider something crap, I definitely won't spend my money on it.

And if you want to play DQ, or KH games, why didn't you buy a 3DS then? You have both of those series on it. I for one am happy with my PSV. I like every game I bought, and I look forward to several games that will be out in next couple of months. Are there games I would like to see/play on Vita in future? Of course, but I can name as many "big franchaises" as I can name indies that I want to see on it. And I have no idea what AAA means to you, but I would assume it has a different meaning to me. It's stupid to expect that PSV games will have 8 digit budgets that are usually linked with AAA titles, but to say that games like Soul Sacrifice, Gravity Rush, LBP: Vita, Uncharted: GA, upcoming KZ, Tearaway "lack" the quallity and polish associated with AAA titles is a lie.

Aw, I love it! I was meaning to make a post about it in this thread.

It really stands out from the regular PSM trash, it's basically a DJMAX-lite and is a great entry point to rhythm games. I'm surprised it isn't a full PSN game because to get all the chapters of songs you unlock it for 10 quid, and honestly considering the number of songs (around 70) and quality of the game itself, I think it's a great deal and consigning it to the PSM wasteland does it a disservice . Keep in mind the free demo has like 10 songs for you to try for free, so you get a good taste of what the game is about before you buy it.

From what I've played so far the track selection is great with some really catchy original tunes and the note placement is done well, which are the most important aspects of these games. There are slow tempo jazzy and pop-y songs and faster, dance orientated tracks as usual. Put very simply. a horizontal bar travels up and down the screen on a loop, and dots appear on the screen in line with the music; when the bar meets the dot, you have to tap the dot (and it's all in time with the music that is playing). Things get mixed up form there, some dots you'll have to hold down for longer, sometimes there'll be multiple dots to press at once, etc but it all sticks to that formula. You'll have to use both hands at the same time on the touchscreen, so you set the Vita down on a hard surface as you play. I say it's a good entry point to rhythm games because the first prologue and chapter aren't very hard at all and will get you used to these type of games. 

 

Cytus Lambda is a pretty great game! I encourage you all to try it out free on PSM. I think it's a 300mb download and you get to try 10 songs free (and play them as many times as you want) 

And I guess it's on the google play store, with a 5 star rating after 46 thousand reviews, so it's popular with other players too ^~^
