It does seem a bit strange to me how much first party support and press PS3 is getting right ( supposedly) at the end of its life, when there's a new handheld crying out for more stuff. Gravity Rush was initially a PS3 game, but was moved to Vita when Sony saw the potential in it and I'm wondering why they didn't do this to a few more first party games. I think the Vita could benefit a lot more from a Santa Monica developed GoW title than the PS3 could, I think Puppeteer could stand out among the crowd and generate a lot of buzz on a handheld where it won't be able to on home consoles, as couple of examples.

As for PR, Kyary has a million followers on twitter. That tweet is probably the most effective advertisement for Soul Sac that will ever be released.

don't get me started on Puppeteer and SCEJ... -_- that game could have been their crown jewel so-to-speak after soul sacrifice for the system..but nah >_> that would take more than two brain cells to figure it out...one too many for the guys in charge over there apparently. They better damn well have some good games lined up to make up for it...and a stupid brain training game is not gonna cut it

@kitler: I looked around and I think I can sell it for around 180-200 with a game thrown in if I want to. I can use that money for a next gen home console. But selling is a last resort action. I can't stress how much I love this system, I want it to do well. And I don't mean sales..fuck them I don't care lol but proper support

My biggest issue isn't even the lack of games...it's the lack of support behind it. I mean it's been over 6-7 months since we last saw anything from games like Tearaway and KZ:Merc. I would loooooooove to see at least a screenshot..dev diary ..anything. It's starting to get a bit hard to keep hyped for them. THis of course could change if they do well over the big upcoming events.

Sony is supporting the ps3 like crazy now, games, game related media, PR etc etc yet nothing for the upcoming vita game. SCEJ is too busy releasing a brain training game >_> smh

I mean wtf is sony doing not spending money on localizing games like Type-0. They should push SE hard for that. Last we heard the english translation stuff were close to being finished even....sony needs to really step it up. They can't wait until 3rd parties come and drop games on their lap at this point

but what's the point in selling your system?  as no one seems to want the vita you'll get what?..$10 back?   you'll be better off just deciding to not buy another game and let the ps+ games roll in.  i'm disappointed too but don't be rash either.

PSVita (Used) sells for ~$160 on eBay right now.

if you wait until the other side of soul sacrifice a price drop will probably have hit and you'll be lucky to get $100.

i dunno, maybe i have more money than you but that $100 (or even $160) doesn't seem like much compared to missing out on all the "free" ps+ games i know i'm getting regardless plus the probable regrett of missing out on what i'm sure will be a handful of amazing titles to come.  i can see why vita's library isn't enough to warrent a purchase but now that you already have one...

I also feel down right now :( I think the recent news from Crapcom and One Piece really dealt a huge blow to our hopes for the system and we feel like Sony should react right now. It would be great if they did, but let's give them some time. After all, we'll be getting Sly 4 soon, SS some time later, hopefully KZ around June. There still are things to look forward to. It's obviously nowhere near enough for a 2013 lineup and we need some big announcements, but it's still January.

I won't be selling my Vita, since I'll be playing Final Fantasy games at least till the end of the year ;)

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

Call me a hardcore fan (or the other word) if you want, but I'm more than happy with my vita, They could drop support completely, not release a single game from now on and I'd still have enough games to play for several years.

I have only played FFIV, so I'll be busy with all the other FF (1-9) that I bought.
Plus, I need to beat Uncharted: GA, Uncharted: FF dlc, Touch my Katamari, Little Deviants, Blazblue, get some trophies for DYnasty Warriors and play many other psvita digital games I own.

I also have tons of psone games that I wanna play at some point. So effectively, I could not buy a single game and have years of fun with what I have (and I still haven't bought LBP vita, Persona, Ragnarok Odyssee, Little King's Story, Ninja Gaiden Sigma and so many other announced games).

Sure, I wish Sony supported it better through pressure on 3rd parties, but at this point I have more games than I need. I think some of you are blowing this whole thing out of proportion, though I do understand your frustration.

btw, someone could say, well you can play al those psone classics on your psp. I mean, sure, but the vita interface is ten times better.

I agree here. Puppeteer and GoW: Ascension should be Vita titles. Especially the GoW game, since its multiplayer is 4 or 8 players anyway, just like the Vita seems to be limited to! And Puppeteer looks awesome, but I don't plan to buy it, not on PS3. It just falls into the same category Rayman, LBP and many other games have fallen since I got my Vita - the kind of experience I no longer want on my PS3, but happily enjoy on Vita.

Sony was so stupid allowing Naughty Dog and Santa Monica not to make Vita games... So stupid...

well you've got me there, puppeteer would make for a great portable game.

..but i'm going to tell you the same thing i told the wii fans out there.  when you're an early adopter you don't have much ground to stand on complaining about support.  you just never know what will happen in the 2nd and 3rd years.  but anyhoo, i'm happy as a clam atm.  i have more than 10 games and at least 5 games i'd buy still.  that means even without SS, KZ, tearaway i should be more or less good though the holidays 2013.

$100 seems like a lot when you have a kid. Daycare ain't cheap!

I don't know what your bills are, but without including food my bills are upwards of $2300/month. Supporting a kid and finding time for my PS3, Vita, 3DS & iPhone aint easy.

I don't know, maybe investing in PS+ is a good investment. I might try that before I give up. I might find something I like.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Its normal that many fans are disappointed at this point.

Too much bad news : OP pirate warrior 2 exclusively in Japan for ps vita...

Youkai Watch, the game which was certainly a Vita exclusivity before the bad sales, like so many games ...

Bioshock Vita, one of the best system seller whichi could have helped the vita is now near from the cancelling ...
Capcom...No comment...

ANd i bet sony will announce Gravity RUsh 2 on Vita AND PS3 /PS4 -_-

I very hope the playstation destination will do something about that...

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

This can't happen again. I want to hear that the Tales games are coming, Ys is coming. I want information on Tear Away. Is it still coming this year or is it pushed back? Where is Killzone? Is that a 2014 title now since they have been quiet about the whole thing?

Killzone & Tearaway were both mentioned in Christmas posts on the blog from Guerrilla & MM as coming in 2013.  I don't see why anything would have changed in less than a month :P

I yearn for Tales & Ys though.

This! I've got a right pile of Vita goodness to work through now. There's at least a game a month for now too with Soul Sacrifice rumoured for May. If you hae nothing to play, maybe selling makes sense. But if theres any games you missed out on, be it earlier titles when they had the fantastic launch lineup or PSN releases when have sneaked out.

Between Vita games/ Minis / PS1 / PSP and PSN releases. There's enough of a backlog to keep me going for this year. By next year we'll have a much better idea of the direction Vita is going in. I'm pretty certain it will have a consistent release schedule, even if it doesn't get mega blockbusters. As long as smaller devs can turn a profit on PSN titles (such as Strangers Wrath) on the system, it'll have a supply chain.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.
