Forums - Nintendo - WiiU - Do you understand it?

WiiHD with an ipad like controller as the main attraction that can play games that's on the screen on your ipad like thing (does it have a name?)

that's the Wii U

would like to hear the specs about it..wonder if they will release the info or not until next year
another question, what was that part at the end..with EA? :S I didn't get it..are they the online partners for WiiU?

So it will use all of the existing Wii controllers.. I'm glad N isn't abandoning the motion controls, but does that mean that Wii U generation will be tied to M+ accuracy? I'm kind of torn..

Here's to hoping they will show more (games) the next few days.
Also, where's Wii? It's not dead yet, is it?

Looks interesting, but I don't really see how it is going to be amazing. It was clear that the EA guy really hadn't worked out what use of the screen games were going to make

I haven't been this confused since I first learned how to spank the monkey!

They were talking about something to do with online, but they never expanded on it- did they?

What's the screen in the controller all about?

There were some cool games, but not that many were announced.

Hmmmm

The online would be the same as PSN or XBOXLIVE. They were implying the WiiU would have similar functionality.

The controller has a touch screen. The video on the screen is tranmitted from the console. Not sure how many controllers per console... it seems like there was only 1 per console.

The screen can do a multude of things. It can act as a screen that displays the full game. Through touch screen it can act as a controller. It can provide a different point of view (i.e chase me functionality).

Basically they didnt show any games using it only it's potential applications.

I think you can connect more than one WiiU controller. The section about sharing Webbrowsing sounded like several people could individually browse the web on the WiiU tablet, then share something they found on TV.

When the Wii was first revealed, did N show any games? I don't really remember.

The only thing I'm finding confusing is that people expected Nintendo to explain every detail, spec, price, and showcase a ton of games for it, all during this press conference. That has never been N's style, and I'm sure we'll see the slow hype build over time.

The controller is new, it's different, it could be awesome. I like that Nintendo has become a sort of tool maker, and are pushing the third parties to put up or shut up and develop new ideas, all while bringing the "hardcorez" their precious HD and Dual analog shootermajigs.

LISTEN TO THE FIRST WORLD PODCAST REAL GAMERS, REAL AWESOME

Yeah I'm confused.

They showed New Super Mario Bros Mii for WiiU but it's 'more of a prototype showing Miis and Mario together'.

That means:

a) we might not have to wait 18 years again and
b) Mario Kart Wii was a tech demo

I understand WiiU's control scheme. I'm going to have to get used to it and I'm not sure how practical it is but I understand it. I'll be buying it day one. However I gotta admit I'm not sure why they had to innovate how we play games yet again. I was just getting used to motion controls and now were headed to touch screen controls. I wish Nintendo just stuck with one control scheme rather then bounced all over the place every generation!

at first I was pretty confused, but slowly I started to understand and I am now realising how genius it all is
