Nintendo don't need to do much to win E3 this year. Sony and Microsoft both had pretty average conferences. Reading the articles up on the various websites (especially Eurogamer) they don't think it has been that great at all. It is hard not to agree with them. If you love motion controls and handhelds then this E3 will be your heaven. If your a console gamer (which i bet the vast majority of users on this website are) then there is nothing for us. We got a trailer for a new Halo that will be out in a year and a mmo that has no release date. In comparison to years gone by that is pretty shit. No megatons at all.
For Nintendo to win all they have to do is announce the new console and just one core title at launch i.e If they have a new Super Mario Bros game for it then that will kill all that came before it.
I think we will see a whole new Nintendo style conference this year. Less of the total casual/cute vibe and a bit more leaning towards the hardcore. If that happens then Nintendo will have taken Microsofts spot and make Microsoft the casual console.
Personally i really hope that happens because i am a hardcore gamer and right now i am sick to death of the whole casual gamer/motion controls/3d gaming type thing.

If Nintendo unveils some great 3DS games and Cafe actually gives people a reason to upgrade, they'll probably win. New Console > New handheld. (that we already new of, biggest reveal was the price.) It's all about if Cafe sucks or not. |
Sony's pressers always bore me. They're the longest but have the least to say and the presentation just SUCKS (mostly due to Tretton and Hirai) . It baffles me as to why people give Sony so much leeway with their presentations
Anyway, Nintendo has already beaten Sony before the guns were even fired. Why? Because regardless of what the new system is like, fact of the matter is that a new console REVEAL is the ICBM of E3's. It's not gonna take a whole lot for Nintendo to steal the spotlight (which they already had before E3 even started). Plus they'll inevitably have some big stuff for the Wii, DS, and 3DS.

Basically.
I'm actually hoping for Resident Evil 6 Cafe launch title . . . how amazing would that be? But I'm guessing we'll just get another Mario or Zelda launch title that rehashes a past game for the 7th time. New Mario or Zelda has about as much of an "omg" factor as Uncharted NGP or Halo Remake.
New Pikmin would be amazing. FOR 3DS PLEAAAASE!!!

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

Right now I think Nintendo has a lot to prove with the 3DS (that coming from someone that got one day 1). IMHO that is what happens when a company gets too assured about their success, they get sloppy. Last year's E3 everybody was saying the 3DS had already won, the PSP2 was DOA. Looks like the situation has actually changed quite a bit since then. Unfortunate... |
They launched it 3 months ago! They can't announce a price drop just yet.
For me they have to show:
-Cafe_2/3 times more powerful than 360/Ps3 so it doesn't become "obsolete" when 720/PS4 launch, affordable (although I doubt they announce it's price), good 3rd party support.
-3DS_ games.
-Wii_show Zelda, announce that all japanese RPG will come here, show us a last surprise game.
Please excuse my bad English.

What's intriguing about it is the ability to play "Split Screen" while both players actually get to make use of the full screen. |
Pretty sure other 3D screens can do the same.
The glasses just filter out 2 separate pics.
