Its only the first one and its $40????? Thats a little steep for a 10 year old game.

Because that makes sense ...

As if it matters how old it is or if you've played it before, a lot of people might not have, and it's completely remastered so worth the money.

it does make sense

Is it just remastered or completely redone.  If its remastered, like the PS2 titles have been on the PS3, then the price is expensive.  It may only be worth it if it was a complete remake on the newer engines.

I'm pretty sure its completely redone its not just a HD coating with touched up graphics on it like GOW collection..it actually looks better then Halo Reach.

Then it mat be worth it,  its still a little pricey for an old game, remastered or not,  but at least a good amount of effort was put into it

Yeah i'm pretty sure they had to re-write the majority of the code plus add new code for online co-op and MP, plus there are achievements so in the end $40 is a fair price IMO...they just better not pull a ODST and raise it to $60.

This is absolutely great news for someone like me, who hasn't played the original halo. This game should help me understand the history behind the legendary Halo series, plus get in on some fun co-op plus multiplayer action. All this for 2/3 the cost of a full price game. Thanks MS.

Just one question.

Does anyone know why MS wouldn't remake Halo 2 along with CE while they're at it? Like a HD Collection of Halo CE and 2?

Has this been addressed before?

I suspect it has more to do with the fact that's it's the 10 yr. anniversary of the first game. Maybe they'll make 2 when it's been 10 yrs. for that game as well.

OT: $40 is not bad, I tought is was gonna be $60. They probably don't wanna do like John said and try to jack the price up either. Unless of course they are adding more content but I feel pretty confident that they won't do that. I mean I'd still get it regardless but I think it would piss off too many people to risk it.

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

It's completely redone and has new features that the first one didn't have like Online Co-op and Online multiplayer (via Reach I think. Or maybe like ODST they will include a Reach multiplayer disk in the same package or something)

It's not completely redone, but a lot more work has been put into this than those remastered PS2 games. The engine and physics will actually be pretty much the same, but a new layer of textures and effects have been added on top of it of the existing game. However, it looks so much better/different than the original that you may not believe it, but apparently you can actually switch in between the new look, and the classic look with the push of a button.

Wrong. An entirely new engine was created for Anniversary. The new and the old engine run at the same time, so you can switch them on the fly.

Physics are the same though and every object is at the exact same place. Still lighting is completely different, textures and all character/object models etc..
