Will Nintendo drop the 3DS price this year

Yes 30 37.97%

No 19 24.05%

No but they'll make a bundle 30 37.97%

Total:79

Well by now everyone has seen Sony's conference and the price for the PSVita, WiFi model'll be at 249.99 and 3G model at 299.99, with that said it matches Nintendo's 3DS price putting Nintendo's in a intesrting position, so can we expect a price drop this soon? It won't be the first console to do it, PS3 drop its price 6 omnths after their release. My guess is that Nintendo will drop it just in time to match it with the Vita release.

They have too.

I agree that have too.
or else PSVita vs 3DS is going to be another repeat of ps2 vs gamecube, i.e. An asswhooping

All bow to me the VGChartz current reigning 3DS prediction champion

Bet with tbone51: Pokeon X & pokemon Y will not sell more than 8 million in 2013

July 2009 daveJ saidTrue the wii has a large lead now but by 2017 the most likely result will be 1. ps3 2. xbox360 3. wii <-- wii's successor launched in 2011 effectively killing sales of the wii

We are not sure that PSVita is releasing this year, so Nintendo doesn't have a reason to lower the price, they are not competing against anything yet.

Nope they are too arrogant for it.

Quoted for later lulz.

Voted no, it's incredibly unlikely this year. The 3DS is going to be seeing some big software releases soon, which should boost numbers. There's also a huge amount of stuff Nintendo would do before dropping the price

1st) A new colour (maybe announced in a few hours or maybe not. Released either Nov 2011 or around April 2012)

2nd a) A bundle (Nov 2012)

OR

2nd b) 3DS lite @ $250 and stop production of 3DSphat, price reduced to $300-325 to clear stock (Nov 2012)

3rd) an actual price cut. (mid 2013-early 2014 depending on sales)

They dont need a price drop the Vita has more processing power but thats it, 3DS has 3D and that alone can be worth a purchase over the Vita, on top of that Mario Kart and Mario will prolly be released this year....look at the numbers of mario kart from Wii and DS that game has sold over 10 million on both systems each...Sony doesnt have a IP that can compare to Mario or Mario Kart. and on top of that it seems like Vita and PS3 are going to compete with each other by having the same games

Nintendo won't cut the price because the PSVita will be a new thing released on holidays.

There isn't a reason to do a pricecut to compete with something that will be "sold out".

most likely not, with all of the big name games coming out this year the 3DS sales will start to pick up. the price wasn't the problem for the low sales it was the lack of software which won't be a problem for the rest of the year

though if they did, i would be more likely to get one

They're milking $150 out of every 3DS sold.

I don't think that they will cut that down $50 during the period when they will sell the most units.

The cut will be 2012. Holidays.
