someone is optimistic, selling 15+ million units is going to be an feat. Massive price cut incomming, which MS can do with there big piles of money. Poor bankrupt riddled SONY wont be able to match it but the difference is that:

SONY has Games to support them this hoilday with Exclusives, Fifa 12 and most likely BF3 EA support to win over the consumer who would rather play uncharted then fable: rail shooter, but they still have Halo and gears to help the push so who knows.

Seems like a reasonable goal, and not completely out of the realm of possibility, particularly if they are expecting to stimulate demand with a price cut (they are over-due for one) and/or enter new markets.

MS haven't out sold SONY the last few years hence why the gap between 2006-2007 MS got has been closing from 2008-. And thats SONY, MS and Nintendo numbers talking there. 

But that doesn't mean MS cant do it? But the chances aren't certain. SONY is packing an major punch this hoildays, that cna be argued to be greater than MS offering.

Um did you miss the conference?  It was packed with awesome Kinect software and features.

 

Also for the folks hating on Mattrick.  You do realize that what Mattrick said has to be their projections and not hot air.  It would be criminal for him to make that statement otherwise.

I am a realist. 

Nothing sony offering during the next 6 months can compete with kinect, halo, gears, modern warfare  (xbox preferred platorm), and forza...seriously......add a price drop on top of all those heavy hitting titles and microsoft is laughing all the way to the bank.

Did Microsoft announce how many Xbox 360s they would sell for this year? I thought it was in their financial statement but didnt see it. Just wondering if this comment lines up with those numbers.
