Gratz to PS3, nice goal reached. Even more impressive is the fact that all of the three competitors reached this important goal, and the current gen still has enough life in it to still make them all grow a lot. By the end of this gen (including the remaining life and sales after next gen starts) even the 3rd could have more than 150 1M+ sellers (and more than 130 is not just possible, but practically granted).To make a comparison, according to VGC data, PS2 has 227 1M+ sellers, XB 50, GC 41, so this gen 2nd and 3rd ranking consoles already more than doubled those of the previous gen not only as HW sales but also as 1M+ sellers, and total number of 1M+ sellers is already higher than last gen (334-318). The only two underperforming comparisons are PS3 compared to PS2 and current and previous gen leaders, Wii compared to PS2, but both Wii and PS3 still have some years of sales ahead of them.

Wii can still overtake 360, the user base exists, only some more games, and pushing underexploited ones, are needed.

@Seece: but Ninty and others' last data are as of 31 March, in the meantime sales continued. Not to mention that console makers won't receive 3rd party sales data in real time and most of the latter will send the former their data and the royalties as late as the deals allow them.

there is no doubt in my mind that the sw for the ps360 doesn't also have errors.   i don't know if it is over or under tracked but frankly vgc only claims to be within +/- 10% and a lot of games could fall under or end up above 1M from our numbers with that kind of tolerance.  it would be nice if sony or MS handed out that kind of info but without it i've got nothing better to go by then vgc.

Wow ps3 is only 16 behind and wii even less when 360 had an extra year on the market, I think when all is said and done ps3 will have the most 1 million sellers unless all the good exclusives coming out for it this year undercut each other
