Never would have guessed that this time last year! But all credit to the PS3. It's really hitting its stride now ![]() |
Gratz to PS3, nice goal reached. Even more impressive is the fact that all of the three competitors reached this important goal, and the current gen still has enough life in it to still make them all grow a lot. By the end of this gen (including the remaining life and sales after next gen starts) even the 3rd could have more than 150 1M+ sellers (and more than 130 is not just possible, but practically granted). To make a comparison, according to VGC data, PS2 has 227 1M+ sellers, XB 50, GC 41, so this gen 2nd and 3rd ranking consoles already more than doubled those of the previous gen not only as HW sales but also as 1M+ sellers, and total number of 1M+ sellers is already higher than last gen (334-318). The only two underperforming comparisons are PS3 compared to PS2 and current and previous gen leaders, Wii compared to PS2, but both Wii and PS3 still have some years of sales ahead of them.
Wii can still overtake 360, the user base exists, only some more games, and pushing underexploited ones, are needed.
