Forums - Gaming - Which controller!? PS3 or 360?

I prefer the dualshock 3 because it is lighter(but not too light like the sixaxis) and it is smaller. One thing I like about the 360 controller though are those handsome triggers.

How come a lot of people are calling it DS3 controller? Anyways I choose PS3 controller for better overall use, but thr 360 controller is more comfortable . . . And I don't even like the 360

maybe its there way of getting around saying doomed?

just a thought

I think the X360 controller is super comfortable, second only to the awesome grips of the GameCube controller

I'd always heard about how its D-Pad sucked (long time ago), after trying it I absolutely agree! :(

DS is about the same, less comfortable grips but better D-Pad, the triggers are convex (curving outward, bulging out) which sucks and the analog stick is the same

360's shoulder triggers are convex (like GC controller) which I love and the analog stick are also convex which is great

So X360 > DualShock imo

The Gamecube may have had one of the weirder controllers and a silly layout, but damn that thing was pretty comfortable to hold.

dito

Sony and microsoft should combine and make a perfect controller...rofl like that'll happen

The d-pad on the 360 controller is possibly the worst thing ever, but I still prefer it to the ps3 controller overall. The ps3 controller feels a little small and fragile to me, I like the heft of the 360 controller a lot more.

It does fit snugly in hand I'll agree.

I like the 360 controller better. I never really ever got used to the Playstation design.

Now Playing
Switch - Super Mario Maker 2 (2019)
3DS - Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (Trilogy) (2005/2014)
Mobile - Yugioh Duel Links (2017)
Mobile - Super Mario Run (2017)
PC - Borderlands 2 (2012)
PC - Deep Rock Galactic (2020)

If I had to pick one, it would be the DS3 - I'm just more used to it.

I'd like to combine them though:

From the 360 controller:
- analog sticks (I don't care about the shape, but I like the increased resistance compared to the DS3 - gives you more precision)
- triggers

From the DS3:
- D-pad
- face buttons
- bumpers (I don't like the "clicky" ones from the 360 controller - can't tell you why though, they just don't feel right to me)

I agree completely.

I prefer the 360 overall, but I do like the PS3 controller

Size: 360 > PS3
Button placement: Don't really mind either layout
Triggers: 360 >>>>>> Ps3
Analogue Stick Design: 360 > Ps3
Analogue Stick Deadzone: Not sure...depends on the game

They're both great controllers, a Ps3 with real triggers that was slightly bigger would be amazing though
