So I had always ignored inFamous, thought it was gonna be dumb. But its free now, so I DLed in as part of Welcome Back. Goodness I regret not buying it way back when. It is so much fun! I even went up and preordered the second :D. So Sony's little plan of getting people to "try" inFamous 1 to get them interested in the second worked enough to get the game 1 extra sale :D

Lol yes they probably did that on purpose to bolster LBP2 and Infamous 2 sales.

It probably won't increase sales that much though, maybe 10-20%
