Good numbers for the Wii. Let's see where sales plateau.
The others doing as usual. 3DS needs software and/or a pricecut.

The 3DS isn't performing quite as hideously as people want to make it out to be.
In the start of February 2005 (2 months and 2 weeks after launch), the DS sold around 37,000 a week, while the GBA was selling 70,000 a week.
This week (2 months after launch) the 3DS is selling 32,000 while the DS sold 50,000.
In EMEAA, the DS sold 35,000 2 months after launch, while the 3DS is selling 30,000 2 months after launch.
In Japan, the DS sold 32,000 2 months after launch (in February) while the 3DS is selling 23,000 (in May).
Overall, the 3DS is performing slightly worse than the DS originally did. Which is somewhat poor, obviously, but far from atrocious. Starting out slightly worse than the system that went on to become the best selling video game machine of all time isn't the worst thing that could happen.
And those Mario Kart Wii sales make me very happy.
I didn't expect that much of an increase from the wii price cut. An increase yes, but ....
Let's see how long this last.
I still think the 3DS will pick up bigtime around the holidays.

Just because DS had an abnormal sales curve doesn't mean that 3DS will follow exactly the same one albeit lower. Those trends mean absolutely nothing. Looking at past HW sales from different consoles is almost useless, except when you are looking at seasonality.

I am curious to see what NPD shows as well for this big time Wii bump.
As for the adjustment question. Are VGC Wii sales up until March 2011 still above what Nintendo shipped? I believe this was the original issue and why people claim it may still be 500k or so overtracked.
iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
