I got mine at launch (ps3) and have 2 friend who got it for Christmas, both for ps3.

I was very shocked at the success of this game, even though the Guitar Hero series has done so well. I honestly wasn't expecting people to fork over that much money.
I also have it for the PS3, Rock band though is very popular when I have people over ( approx 3 times a week). Great game for girls to sing on the mic IMO.
I already have a blister on my finger from the drumsticks (I must have been holding them wrong, I have since converted to a different style of drumming to avoid the blisters)
BTW, drumming is very hard, I can play on hard if a separate person mans the foot pedal, otherwise I am only able to play on medium for most songs.
Great game that won't disappoint, and Everyone who plays it says that it is undoubtedly better than Guitar Hero. But $170 does seem like a lot at first.
The price is to high for most people, I see Guitar Hero sold out everywhere and almost no one buys Rock Band. I was just able to find Guitar Hero for the Wii yesterday after looking everywhere for it. I think its a flop still.

Nintendo still doomed?
Feel free to add me on 3DS or Switch! (PM me if you do ^-^)
Nintendo ID: Mako91 3DS code: 4167-4543-6089
Its the supply it very small. I go find guitar to play drum supply small.

ultra - learn to play with the footpedal!
There's nothing like doing songs on hard and expert on drums. Some of the songs are beyond crazy on hard - I've only mastered a few songs on hard like In Bloom, Paranoid, Mississippi Queen, and easier-esque songs.
Still trying to get down Welcome Home, and Tom Sawyer :-\
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
Also, at $170, how can 1m+ units by the end of December be considered a flop?
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
I still think it could flop, its done very well during the holidays but it is exactly the sort of thing that would do well during the holidays.
I don't think it is gauranteed to flop or anything, but it is a definite possibility that its legs vanish post-holidays. Its just that type of game at that sort of price point. We should know very quickly how it will do post-holidays though, by the end of January we should have a pretty good idea.
This game rocks. Cheaper DL songs with some nice songs at $99 for the holidays. I mean how can these songs be cheaper then GH3 when they serve 3 instruments. Really makes GH3 highly over priced. People keep talking my area sells so I'll add mine which is similar to other posted with the 360 selling out and the PS3 version easily available. Can't believe activision won't allow the patch to go on for PS3 owners. Those greedy bastards.
elnino - And RB has a definate price advantage when you consider everything:
Rockband PS3/X360: $169.99
Guitar Hero PS3/X360: $99.99
But for $70 more, you get a very big, nice, excellent drumset, and a good singstar-esque microphone. For most people (that I've talked to), that extra $70 is seen as a major value.
Not to mention the fact that the PS2 Rockband is $159.99.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
