Forums - Nintendo - Why do you Nintendo fans think Link is so powerful?

but that has NOTHING to do with him fighting kratos or anyone for that sort. And the reason why we always compare to Link is because thats all Nintnedo has. What else are we going to compare to? Mario? I don't think so lol.

I already said it's why he gets chosen in these compeitions.  I didn't say that's the reason he would win an actual fight.  Just why he gets so much support.

As for who else Nintendo has?  Samus?  Marth, Roy, Isaac, other RPG characters with great powers?   Hell, even Kiby.  He'll just eat the person he's fighting.

Those characters don't have a third the popularity link has. And would all die by the hand of kratos.

There is a popularity metric requirement?   How does Cole get to play in these battles but not Samus or Kirby?

And of course, Kratos would kill them all.  He's a demigod destined to kill everything he comes across.

The entire concpet of comparing characters on their brute power is ridiculous by itself.   Not every video game character must have the strength of Hercules or the powers of Zeus.  Fictional constructs are bounded only by the rules set forth by their creators.  Comparing character in a one on one fight is irrelevant.  What prevents Aonuma from designing Link in the next game to be capable of eating planets and shitting comets?  Nothing.

What's not clear to the average gamer, is the fact that Link IS the triforce of courage, an etheral spirit, or a divination crafted by the 3 goddesses. So on top of his skills with multiple weapons, he is an immortal, crafted by the goddesses. I'd say being  immortal is pretty powerful.

Hrm lets see you stand right next to a bomb that is at least 1ft tall can blow up walls and you only take about half a heart of damage

In all seriousness the guy has a tunic that makes him invincible, clocks that stop time, can die and come back to life before you can say fairy boy, takes on monsters the size of sky scrapers and eats them for breakfast, and you're wondering why people think he's so powerful?  I wonder...

tl;dr? It's a video game, it has fans that like the character, get over it

He's a genius that is born every few hundred years and looks the same. Genius's are awesome. Deal with it.

I just wanna go on record and say Issac, hell just about anyone from the Fire Emblem universe is bad ass

Thats the point, the characters are as strong as the creator makes them to be. Which is why kratos would beat link in a fight, and is why Goku would kill everyone. And Cole is still more popular then all those characters going by sales.

Wait, how is Cole more popular going by sales? Metroid, Kirby and Fire Emblem have been around much longer and have sold much more units. Unless I misunderstood something here
