Kratos has been pwned so many more times, but due to convenient bad writing he has managed to come back everytime. Link has never been pwned in a fight and he never will. I'm a Sony fanboy and even I  can admit Kratos is a shit character and would get his shit wrecked in a legit fight between Link. Plus Nayru's Love makes him invincible so....

why does everyone always want to compare "said character" to Link is the better question

Its always characters that are basically gods, and have unlimited powers and are the most horribly written powerjunkies ever and then they go "who would win, said ultimate being that is basically an invincibilty hack or a farmboy Link who found a sword and shield"

why Link.  what drives you to compare to Link? 

He's powerful because he embodies the spirit of a person without super powers, without God heritage, without genetic mutations, without futuristic weaponry and he still has the bravery, courage and wisdom to save his world from evil.

its not the powers, its like you said its the courage. What does it matter if they have futuristic weapons if the enemy has them too. Its like saying the link has futuristic weapons compared to his enemies.
