I told people months ago about how Sony exclusives get open to so much criticism and its the same websites that criticised Sony so much and shined them in such a bad light without knowing all the facts over the PSN hack first. I really try to ignore game reviews especially when I havn't played the full version of a game yet but when you check N4G for gaming news you can't help but get curious about the reviews that show up within their news sections.
I was scrolling through the news when I noticed the 7/10 gamescore Gamerpro gave for Infamous 2 and I couldn't help myself. Dam that review was very harsh and unprofessional. First of all for a Journalist his writing skills are very lacking. I had to read some lines 2 or 3 times for me to make sense of them. He starts off the review straight away with hatred for the game in his wording. "Design and technical disappointment" First of all the games a sandbox game and it has the best graphics I have seen in a sandbox game so far. The Melle camera was not a problem for me in the 4 weeks of the beta I played. Yeah it zooms in a bit when attacking but for anyone who played the original game will notice straight away how improved the overall feeling is.
He complained about locked powers that he couldn't unlock because he sucked at the game. No explanation on how to do the stunts. The first game didn't explain either and most people had no problems understanding them. He also said empire city stood for New York city as new marinas stands for new orleans. Well he should get his facts right. Empire city was based off 3 differant cities. NYC being one chicago being the other and I think san francisco was the last.
Lol "I feel that with a character equipped with such a versatile arsenal, the developers could have created some more varied ways to make you feel like a superhero. Stop a bank robbery or have Cole use his powers to put out fires." Yeah because stopping bank robbers worked so well in Spiderman games lol. How many bank robberies does this person think actually happens in real life in one city every year. What you wanna play cop? Go play LA Noir and what if you take the bad route. Bad cole won't want to stop a bank robbery. Lol put out fire ROFLMAO. Ah did the little reviewer want to be a fireman when he was younger. Thank god Suckerpunch never put something like that in the game because thats lame as fuck and boring.
Also not to mention the user created content is more than enough to make you feel like a super hero. During the beta I played some really cool levels made by other testers that I never thought was possible. Imagine when everyone gets a shoot at making levels.
Anyway this reviewer reviewed this game based on the way he wanted the game to be and not how the game is and thats very sad really. Is this just some website a dude like you or I would set up or is this a proper gaming site with thousands of visiters? because I feel sorry for Sucker punch if it is. Sorry for the long post but I needed to say this.

I like the anger, use it! Use it! Haha. I didn't read the review, but compared to the other scores thus far, it certainly does seem (too) harsh. Irritates me as well. Although I'm very surprised to see G4 gave it an 8/10 (4/5). Last time I followed their reviews (which was like 1.5 yrs ago), they used to give out 10/10's like there was no tomorrow. I think inFAMOUS 1 actually got a 10/10, come to think of it.
So anyways, my question is: Is Gamepro normally harsh with reviews in general, with reviews of ps3 exclusives, or are they generally fair?

The thing that irritates me the most is how reviews like Gampros Infamous 2 can easily turn people away from purchasing a game most people would find very enjoyable, or how sometimes your talking to a mate about this great game your playing and he says "but didn't that game get a 6/10 over on IGN". Reviewers will be the death of this industry.
As for Gamepros reputation. I don't follow many reviews so I don't know how they review games
