Or, Microsoft now bundles Kinect with every system they sell and don't take it out. They could also end up dropping stand alone Kinect to $100 also at E3. If Microsoft would be making a big push for Kinect, they consider this.
I dont see MS getting rid of the Kinect-less SKUs. Those SKUs fill marketing roles.
4GB Kinect-less will be at or lower price than Wii.
250GB Kinect-less will be at or lower price than PS3.
MS doesnt want to have lowest price more expensive than the Wii and they dont want the HDD version to be higher price than PS3. So I really suspect you will see a $50-$70 price reduction on the Kinect-less SKUs and $100 price reduction on bundled versions.

You saved $50 with that bundle if you live in America.
Kinect standalone is $150 and Xbox 250GB standalone is $299 which amounts to $449 but the bundle is $399.
Its possible.
$179 360 Slim 4GB and $299 360 Slim 250GB w/ Kinect?! That plus Gears 3, Halo HD, Forza 4 and tons of Kinect stuff will for sure move some units :)

Thank you for sharing the msrp. The gamestop must have been running a special promotion. The stand alone units they had out were almost thirty dollars below msrp. I guess in hindsight it must have been a sale. Fifty bucks less plus another game I guess I did get a better deal then I thought.

Huh. 250GB costs $300, purchase Kinect separatly at $150and you end up spending $450.
Purchase 250GB Kinect bundle for $400. Sounds like you saved $50.
As for what I think pricing should look like.
Arcade establishes base price. Needs to be at the same or lower than Wii.
HDD with Kinect bundle establishes top price. Needs to be at the same or lower than PS3 with Move.
So looks like this.
Arcade SKU $149.99
Arcade with Kinect SKU $229.99
HDD SKU $229.99
HDD with Kinect SKU $299.99
Kinect standalone $99.99.
HDD standalone $99.99
BOLD is what they want to sell, but if people choose to purchase without Kinect when they add then the margin is a little higher.
