Interesting.
i knew its shit the moment i saw it, sorry, gothic lolita and other fancy artstyles won't cover how bad the gameplay is.
| Doobie_wop said: The review read like he was hating on the game because he wasn't very good at it. When did trap based platforming become a fault? It seems like he came into the game expecting to blow through the whole thing in a night or two, but instead he found that it was a challenging platformer and required concentration, patience and skill to get through. Basically, he expected Ratchet & Clank, but he got Demon's Souls instead and you know what? A lot of people liked Demon's Souls, so I'd wait for reviews from more reliable outlets like Eurogamer or Giant Bomb. The day an 'official' console magazine becomes legitimate is the day I buy every exclusive and make sure that every heavily marketed game gets my money. |
That`s pretty much the norm with critics. If anything I was surprised that Demon's Souls got a 89 in metacritic and had almost unamiously positive reviews because critics in the past (especially IGN, Gamespot and the other mainstream ones) haven't shied away from downgrading a game for being too unforgiving or even just plain difficult. I think it's especially hilarious that the critics talked about how the difficulty was "refreshing" when these same critics have ripped on games before for being too hard, unforgiving, frustrating, etc. It would be interesting to know why Demon's Souls got a free pass with the critics in the way that other games didn't.
I'm going to wait for more reviews and hopefully try the game out myself before passing judgement. I adored the first Alice game and love the book. I'll be a sad panda if Madness Returns turns out to be crap.
"But I don't want to go among mad people!" said Alice. "Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat. "We're all mad here."

Bad aiming system sounds like pc game that wasn't dumbed down for consoles :D
I'm still waiting for it especially since it's supposed to come with first Alice game :)

Seems like it might be the Naughty Bear of this year. It did look promising (Alice I mean, not Naughty Bear which i was never interested in), hopefully it can be used as a platform to build from. I remember there was a hint about a Red Riding Hood adaptation from the same guy, which has also had a rather lame recent film adaptation.
