Graphics = Underwhelming, seriously falling behind from what used to be such a graphical powerhouse of GoW1. And this is with an extra 6 months in polishing.

Gameplay on the otherhand is already a 10/10 just due to the fact that it'll be slightly more paced than Gears 2.

You kidding? Gears 2 was a great improvement over 1 graphically big big improvement. As for this game, its not really an improvement over Gears 2, but at least now it doesn't have any texture pop ins nor as many glitches as Gears 2 did. And i still think today that Gears 2 is like top 5 best looking console games of this generation. Crysis 2 first no doubt followed by KZ3, 2 and then Uncharted 2, but thats it, no other game looks better (although UC3 will).

I'd take another look then, because I think Gears 3 also looks quite a bit better than Gears 2.

Much better facial animations and more detailed faces too. Improved colour palette, probably best use of motion blur and other new effects of the improved UE3 engine.

looks excellent, you can clearly tell when a game is a massive budget title compared to a lesser one

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

My last post on the subject of graphics: Memory is a funny thing.  Just like I thought that  Super Mario 64 looked better than it really did, people remember games like Gears of War, Metal Gear Solid 4, Uncharted 1, and other games as being better than they really are.  I guess it's because our standards were different at the time (sorta like only remembering the good about a girl you broke up with but forgetting all of the bad things that made you hate her).  GeoW3 looks great.  The problem it has, like Cliffy B once said, is that it has to compete with the memory of GeoW1 and 2.  Nostalgia is a strange beast.

When I first played Gears 2, I was underwhelmed.  I wasn't instantly blown away like I was with Gears 1.  For a moment, I thought the graphics were actually worse than Gears of War 1!  Before Gears 1, my standard wasn't that high.  When Gears 1 came out, it blew everything else in the market out of the water to the point where there was really no comparison.  I had the same thing happen when I played Banjo Kazooie after playing Super Mario 64.  Yeah, BK was better graphically than SM64 but they couldn't replicate that sense of "WOW" that SM64 had.  Games that break new ground are always remembered a little differently.  Now that the standard is set, we've become harder and harder to impress.  Maybe we've become a little desensitized or even jaded.

When the inevitable Gears 1-3 comparison videos come out, we'll see how much the game has progressed.  Until then, I'll just look forward to the awesome game we'll be getting later this year.  Besides, there's more to Gears than a pretty face, right?

Hey man, just saying that are brains are programmed to remember more positive things than good things. So your comparison of remebering the best about ex partners and remembering original games better than sequals has little surprise. Imagine if you remembered very well every shitty thing that ever happened. I think as a species it would not lead to much happiness. Proven fact we remember every thing somewhat better than it was. Its cool you notice what has been proven to be natural. I bet years from now people who like gears will remember them all more fondly than we already do. I be like back in my day people played shooters all the time and damn they were the best. These kids these days are playing boring virtual reality. Yeah what graphics whores, I mean who needs a game to mimic real life.

Now thats a pretty good trailer...much better then the first stupid teaser trailer.

All Gears trailers are meh to me unless there is emo-ish background music :p.

Gears of War is a manly game kid.....I suggest playing pokemon and such :p

How does emo music imply or suggest that he's childish in any way? pokemon, really?

That would have been the proper response if he said the trailer sucks because it doesn't have elmo singing in the backround.

they were both being sarcastic

I'll be honest, I wasn't being completely sarcastic.  Not to say the trailer looks bad (which it most certainly does not), but I really enjoy their trailers because of the new music artists they've introduced to me.  I appreciate movies, games, etc. that dive a bit deep into music to find that fitting song -or maybe just the right tune-.  War Pigs is easy to find.

Well there is a generation or 3 that have no idea of how awesome Sabbath is. Kinda like how Black Ops put all these young kids on to the Stones. I mean I know what you are saying but at the same time people are still going to be put on to new music here.

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

I saved that video to my phone and the more I watch, the more I like.  I noticed a serious lack of Cole and Baird.  Hope nothing bad happened to them.  Graphics are INSANE!

@ 40 sec. it looks like Cole is holding his arms up in victory rockin' his Thrashball uni when an explosion occurs. Could this be the bad thing happening to him? Also I damn near pissed my pants at your blade of grass comment in another post, good shit.

resistance 3 (PS3) and gears of war (360) killzone 3 (PS3) are the best shooter 2011.

the best RPG's are coming 2013 !!!! oh my god, this is perfect for RPG-GAMER = ) Ni No Kuni - 25 january, Time and Eternity, tales of xillia (PS3) and the maybe best game ever: metal gear solid ground zero

Best music you could have in a trailer like this... Maybe Gears 3 won't be as much about Marcus and Dom talking about their feelings for each other and will actually kick ass.

It would be pretty ironic if they don't show up at all, considering their characters are still playable in the multiplayer.
