So right now I'm in the middle of learning the language that some of the best films ever are shot in... but i'm kinda staggering since learning vocab from something like a list or a book is boring. I hang out a lot though, and when I do, I usually take my PSP with me so I can listen to music/lessons etc. What I need and can't find are files that are simply dictionary entries read aloud with a translation after. I need it for a good improvement of my vocab! I realize that I could record some myself, but eh, if they are already there, why do that?

French - English, French - Russian, and French - Hebrew will all do awesomely, as would general tips about French.

I actully bought a book for learning French - i was doing pretty well and i'm hoping to return to complete it when i've finished at college.

the hardest thing i found was learning to pronounce the vocab, but a lot of them were read out on the CD i got with the book. so i think you should just get an auido cassette or something like that on the internet. it might be worth trying to say the words out aloud as well so you remember them based on your voice.

i think the best thing you can do is attempt to learn at least 1 new word every day, think about that word during your day and i think it will work.

i was having a lot of trouble doing the excersises simply because i they were introducing too many new words each chapter so i couldnt remember them. but make sure you remember the gender of the word, or both the masculine and feminine version.

i actully think the best technique i used was to print out my list of 30 words, and read them over to myself at the beginning of the day - then at the end of the day read them again. it didnt work that well because i used too many words, but i think the method will work a lot better if you use say 1 word (but if your serious about learning) i would say about 5 words a day.

i guess we could update this thread every day with a new word, so we both learn one at the same time!

oh and the key thing i think is that you look at your list of old words every day and read them just once. so at least your using them - if dont use it you forget it man. i forgot so much of the French and German work i did simply because i didnt use it and it feels like such a waste because i'm going to have to start again when i finish college.

Do you have a DS? If so, "My French coach" should be quite good.
