its amazing that the japanese disaster cost sony 3 billion in loses. What did they have in that region that made them lose so much??

it didn't cost 3Bn dollars really.

the loss is deferred tax; an accounting cost.

Tharts actually not true, Sony lsot that much becasue they had t pay some sort of tax. The tsumai only lost a few million dollars.

Was the 360 adjusted down? And yes, the PS3 seems overtracked.

Nothing major, just the usual small adjustments as far as I know.

PS3 probably needs about 200k.

360 about 100k.

Wii about 500k.

Edit: I found out

only 200k?

anyway, the Wii is embarrassingly still way overtracked here, its sad.

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

200-300, no big deal. Give/take 100k for the other 2 aswell.

All 3 actually seem fine for the time being, bar Wii in America. We don't know what will be announced at E3, if a revised/new bundle PS3/360 is announced, they could well have been clearing the channel.

"PS3 is still a live product, but this is a platform business, and I cannot disclose future product today, but development is underway"

Seb that kind of smacks of the party line if you dont mind me saying... the Wii is overtracked.  I agree the other two could arguably be ok, particularly the 360, but you dont drain the channel before a price cut, a price cut which has already happened before E3.

Well I agree adjustments need to take place, we still have 116 million sellers on Wii when Nintendo just announced they've only shipped 103. I guess this stuff takes time though and it's a busy time for ioi atm what with E3 and the new site.

Okay so...

"About 568k on the shelves as of April 2nd."

While selling ~170k weekly...

About 3 Weeks of stock WW?

Needs adjusting down, just like the other consoles.

PS2 on the other hand...

I kind of agree...  PS3 maybe needs a bit of an adjustment down, 360 a very very small one perhaps... and the wii a great steaming hot one.

By how much? I'de say 600K.

For those curious Sony projects to ship 15m PS3s, 6m PSPs, and 4m PS2s - but this could very well be the last growth year for PS3 on a global basis - and thats assuming they ship 15m - they had projected that in the year to March 2011 when they only shipped 14.3m

not that i had any doubts before but price cut confirmed!
