So basically I expect 360 and PS3 still to be close, which one comes out on top will mainly depend if Others or American numbers go down faster. Wii should still sell a lot of units in Japan. In Others and the Americas it will mainly depend on the available supply.

Definetly that is what it will depend on.  Cause in Japan, Wii should be able to do 300k+.  But it just matters how much was actually shipped to America and Europe/Other.  I think E/O will have normal drops, which should put it at about 150k.  But America is the real tought question.  I mean it could really be anywhere from almost no sales, to a good 200k.  So we'll just have to wait and see.

wii isn't "losing" it is in short supply that's all. also, i bet japan's wii numbers will make up for the low america and other sales that are going to be expected! wii would sell more than 200,000 there. (also, your prediction for the wii will be surpassed before the end of this year man!) the wii could possibly sell more than the 360. the ps3 will get the biggest advantage and surpass the other 2 next week though. so my predictions are: Wii-550,000 360-500,000 PS3-650,000

I meant lose next week. not overall. It is in short supply, which is why it will lose NEXT WEEK.

I would expect the Japanese will receive the overwhelming majority of Wii stock, so I would expect levels in US and Others to be between 300-350k and japan to be as many as they can get. I think the PS3 should outsell the 360 again, mabye by as much as 50k if there are supply problems as desribed above, especially helped by a larger gap in Japan.

A friend of mine bought a Wii the day after xmas, so some company managed to get a shipment on the 26th. I did not get a chance to ask him what store he bought it - though I am anxious to know where.

I agree with your reasoning, DMeister, and think the PS3/360 both may outsell the Wii next week. However, looking at previous years:

You can see that we typically have something like a 50% drop off in total hardware sales starting right now. Thus, I think all your totals are inflated, and we're more likely to see something like:

PS3: 300-350k
360: 300-350k
Wii: 250-350k

Assuming you're right and Wii hardware is considerably constrained for the week (and I think you are).
