Forums - Nintendo - Dead or Alive 3DS pulled in Sweden for possible child pornography

And this was one of the 3DS games that interrested me :(

Oh well, I'll get it at Ebay.

Game banned for child pornography despite not containing children (aformentioned girls are mature enough imo) or pornography (maybe you can photograph their tits, but can you make 'em naked? Bleh). In Sweden.

Big surprise.

At this point, it seems that its better to not mention game charcter's age just to be on safe side (or just lie about it like many companies do).

Three of the girls in it are minors, since they are not 18. It is also not Sweden that banned the game, but rather the distributors. Sweden is actually very liberal with sexuality, but I do think that most of the world agrees that exploitation of minors is wrong, and that even fantastical exploitation is not appropriate. The reason why the world draws the line at 18 and not 16, is that while at 16 most people are mature enough to handle themselves, there are still a lot who are essentially still children; by 18 this is no longer true, most are mature enough.

Yeah see, there are some deep psychological tricks being played.

The human body is beautiful, we all enjoy nude bodies, every one of us.  Yet somehow, we've let ourselves be convinced that theres something bad about it...

Its because they are trying to manipulate us, keep us producing.

A naked 17 year old is something to be celebrated, any age really.  Enjoying looking at the human body is not something to be ashamed of, and the only way that can be "exploited" is if its first made artificially hard to come by and Tabu.

Edit: of course, predatory actions are an entirely different issue.  Completely.

Right, and the younger are more likely to be coerced into displaying themselves for pornographic purposes (granted we can't tell how many 18-plus aren't being coerced either, but there has to be a cutoff at some point), but you can be fairly positive that someone who doesn't exist is being coerced into doing anything...

You know that game is animated right? It's not porn, wow some animated 17 yr old girl in a bathing suit and you can take pictures of fake animated girl. Calling this porn is really streching it.

Mostly a taste-in-games thing. Old school Sonic (though Sega was bigger than Nintendo in Europe in Sonic's heyday), but more importantly old-school Nintendo, which was always biggest in the USA.

I personally think this is absolutely hideous. People should be allowed whatever sick perversions they want, as long as it doesn't harm anybody else.

I firmly believe that  fictional children's pornography is just fine (as in, acceptable). Nobody should control what people fantasize about, no matter how sick they might find it.

Totally agree. As long as no-one is harmed why does it matter? Reminds me of the thought police in 1984.

No troll is too much for me to handle. I rehabilitate trolls, I train people. I am the Troll Whisperer.

What's the... um... legal age on Sweden anyway? Just out of curiosity... I once saw a map in 7chan, but I didn't save it...

In any case, calling DoA for CP is a stretch. Massive jiggling boobs and bathing suits is far from pr0n.

Serves them right for not being a part of the Finnish master race. (A prime example.)
